Dapet dari milis neh, gak tau bener apa enggak :p

Ini adalah tips dalam mengisi bensin:

1. *ISI BENSIN **_HANYA_** DI PAGI HARI*, saat suhu permukaan tanah
masih dingin. Setiap pom bensin menyimpan bensinnya di ruang penyimpanan
di bawah tanah. Semakin dingin suhunya, maka bensin akan semakin padat,
sedangkan saat suhu menghangat, bensin akan _memuai _(!)

Maka, kalo kita isi bensin di sore atau malam (saat suhu tanah masih
panas), bensin akan memuai, artinya VOLUME yang terbaca oleh meteran
akan menjadi lebih besar dari _VOLUME sebenernya._

Dalam bisnis BBM ini, penambahan suhu 1 derajat besar bedanya.
Tapi semua pom bensin (service station) nggak punya alat untuk
mengkompensasikan perbedaan ini untuk konsumen.

2. *SAAT MENGISI BENSIN, JANGAN MENGATUR BUKAAN NOZZLE jadi FAST MODE
*ini mostly karena di sana kita ngisi bensin sendiri alias self-service.
Tapi bisa kita coba di sini ngasi tau ke tukang ngisinya supaya setting
ke slow mode (bisa nggak ya?).

The trigger punya 3 level: low, medium, high. Di slow mode, kita
memasukkan bensin secara perlahan, dan akibatnya adalah meminimalisasi
terciptanya vapor (uap) dari bensin tsb.

Semua selang di pom bensin punya vapor return (artinya kira2: jalan
kembali bagi uap bensin). Kalau kita setting ke FAST mode, maka sebagian
dari bensin (yang berbentuk cair) akan berubah menjadi vapor (uap) dan
akan tersedot balik ke tangki penyimpanan, jadinya bensin yang masuk ke
mobil/motor kita lebih sedikit dari yang tertera di meteran.

Trus kalo di SLOW mode nggak sempet berubah menjadi uap? mungkin gitu.
Atau paling nggak lebih lambat berubah jadi uap. Mungkin lho.

3. *ISI BENSIN SAAT TANGKI MASIH BERISI SETENGAH (Half-Full)* Karena
semakin banyak tangki bensin kita berisi bensin, semakin sedikit udara
yang ada di sana. Petrol (bensin) menguap jauh lebih cepat dari yang
kamu bayangkan. Tangki penyimpan bensin punya atap yang mengapung di
dalamnya (internal floating roof), yang berfungsi sebagai pemisah antara
bensin dan udara di dalam tangki.

Trus hubungannya sama hemat bensin apa ya?

mungkin gini:
kalo di Pom bensin, mereka punya internal floating roof, jadi mereka
nggak akan mengalami pengurangan bensin karena menguap, sedangkan di
mobil/motor kita nggak ada, jadi harus kita atur sendiri.

4. *SAAT POM BENSIN SEDANG DIISI ( ADA TRUK PENGISI) jangan mengisi
bensin*.

Kemungkinan besar isi bensin di ruang penyimpanan (storage tank) sedang
teraduk sehingga kotoran (yang biasanya ada di dasar) akan terangkat dan
bisa terbawa masuk ke tangki bensin mobil/motor kita.

kalau gak salah, ini pernah ada thread yg ginian deh....
emang, batas antara mitos dan fakta itu sangatlah tipis... entahlah... mana yg harus diikuti atau berasa worth... :e-think:

Harusnya ditambahin lagi: Pilihlah pom bensin yang terpercaya. :beer:

Percuma menerapkan hal2 tsb di atas kalau pom bensinnya sendiri nggak benar.

Tapi menurutku sih, dengan menerapkan hal2 di atas, irit yang didapat juga belum tentu worth, karena kenyataannya hasil yang didapat nggak seberapa dibanding pengorbanan yang diberikan.

Untuk point #1: Coba bayangkan kalau setiap saat kita harus isi bensin pada pagi hari. Pagi hari saat berangkat kerja banyak kondisi yang tidak bisa dipastikan. Biasanya orang cenderung merasa aman setelah absen di kantor. Kalau harus isi bensin dulu sebelum tiba di kantor, setelahnya mungkin jadi was2 karena kondisi jalanan memang tidak bisa diprediksi (pagi-siang-sore-malam). Belum lagi kalau antrian di pom bensinnya panjang mesin lebih lama dalam kondisi idle. Waktu yang tersisa untuk meneruskan perjalanan juga menjadi lebih sempit. Otomatis bawa mobil/motornya menjadi lebih ngebut bagi yang ngantornya pagi. Boros juga khan? Kecuali isi bensinnya pas subuh atau malah sebelumnya, mungkin pom bensin dan jalanan juga lebih sepi (juga lebih dingin). Tapi mau jadi petugas pembuka pintu kantor kalau berangkat jam segitu terus?

Point #2: Mungkin benar, tapi berarti harus ngotot dulu dengan petugasnya. Dan itu juga berarti isi bensinnya menjadi lebih lama. Bisa jadi dengan begitu justru bensin yang menguap dari lubang pengisian mobil/motor kita ke udara bebas menjadi lebih banyak dibanding yang balik ke tangki penyimpanan akibat fast mode. Tapi kalo isinya subuh sih, yang nguap mungkin bisa lebih sedikit.

Point #3: Kendaraan jadi lebih sering sowan ke pom bensin. Berarti harus mulai berakrab ria dengan petugas pom bensin. Kalau tampang petugasnya kaya umbrella girl di sirkuit2 balap sih enak (kalau itu sih setiap hari juga nggak apa2, itung2 pdkt), tapi kalo kaya preman pasar semua? :shocked:

yup bener bro .. Ditambah point 5. Isilah bensin di spbu yang terpercaya atau ada logo pas.
Pendapat yei ada benernya bro.. Disinilah seninya forum ada perbedaan pendapat.. Tapi kembali kediri kita gimana menyikapi perbedaan. Hanya sebagai evaluasi n paradigma baru buat kita2 aja bro.

Dah tau hasilnya review ya..
Saya jg dah coba .. Isi sesuai saran di pagi hari atau malam tp gak ampe ngotot pk mode nozzlenya slow pa fast bis keder juga petugasnya kumisan tebel xixixi.. Pada saat suhu gak tinggi.. Ada sedikit perbedaan sih tapi bener gak bener hanya melihat indikator jarum fuel.. Biasa isi cepek biasa dpt 2 garis kurang n diisi pagi hari.. Dpt 2 garis pas lebih dikiitt bgt.

Sure you want to save gas, but there's a lot of bad advice on how to do it. Some of it makes no difference, and some of it can wind up costing you.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- With gasoline prices hitting record levels, it seems everyone has a tip on how to save fuel. Much of the advice is well-intentioned, but in the end, much of it won't lower your gas bill.

Here's a look at a few misconceptions:

#1. Fill your tank in the morning

You may have heard that it's best to fill your gas tank in the early morning while the fuel is cold. The theory goes that fluids are more dense at lower temperatures, so a gallon of cold gas actually has more gas molecules than a gallon of warmer gas.

But the temperature of the gasoline as it comes out of the nozzle varies little during the course of the day, according to Consumer Reports, so there's little, if any, benefit, to getting up early to pump gas.

#2. Change your air filter

Maintaining your car is important, but a clean air filter isn't going to save you any gas. Modern engines have computer sensors that automatically adjust the fuel-air mixture as an increasingly clogged air filter chokes off the engine's air supply.

While engine power will decrease slightly as the air filter becomes clogged, a lack of performance or an increase in fuel consumption will be negligible, Consumer Reports says.

#3. Use premium fuel

With prices already over $4.00 a gallon, premium gasoline is a hard sell these days. But a lot of drivers think because their owners' manual recommends premium, they'll get better fuel economy with it. Really, they may be paying more money for nothing.

Newer cars for which premium is "recommended" - but not "required" - won't suffer with regular fuel. Modern engine technology comes to the rescue again. When sensors detect regular instead of premium fuel, the system automatically adjusts spark plug timing. The result is a slight reduction in peak horsepower - really, you'll never notice - but little or no reduction in fuel economy.

Always check your owner's manual before putting anything into your car. And if your car runs badly on regular, by all means, go back to the pricey stuff. (See editor's note at bottom)

#4. Pump up your tires

Proper tire inflation is important for a number of reasons. Under-inflated tires are bad for handling and can even cause a crash. Improper tire inflation also causes tires to wear out faster and to heat up more, which could trigger a dangerous high-speed blow-out.

According to on-the-road driving tests by both Consumer Reports and auto information site Edmunds.com, underinflated tires reduce fuel economy, so proper inflation is key.

But you should never over-inflate your tires. They'll get you slightly better fuel economy because there will be less tread touching the road, reducing friction. But that means less grip for braking and turning. The added risk of a crash isn't worth the extra mile a gallon you might gain.

#5. To A/C or not A/C

There's no question air-conditioning makes extra work for the engine, increasing fuel use. But car air conditioners are much more efficient today than they used to be. In around-town driving, using the A/C will drop fuel economy by about a mile a gallon.

Meanwhile, driving at higher speeds with the windows down greatly increases aerodynamic drag. As speed increases, drag becomes more of an issue, making A/C use the more efficient choice at high speeds.

At most speeds and in most vehicles, A/C use drains slightly more fuel than driving with the windows down, contends David Champion, head of auto testing for Consumer Reports. "My final take on is that it's very close," says Phil Reed, consumer advice editor for Edmunds.com. "It's hard to measure the difference and every vehicle is different."

The best choice - if temperature and humidity allow - is to keep the windows rolled up and to turn the A/C compressor off. You can keep the fans running to blow in air from the outside, but your car will be as aerodynamic as possible while still letting you breathe. You will save gas, but the fuel economy improvement will be slight.

#6. Bolt-ons and pour-ins

Before you buy a device that's supposed to make your car more fuel-efficient or pour in an allegedly gas-saving additive, ask yourself this: Don't you think oil and car companies aren't doing everything they can to beat their competitors?

If BP (BP) could add something to its gasoline that made cars go farther on a gallon, cars would be lining up at the company's pumps. Sure, people would burn their fuel-saving BP gas more slowly, but then they'd drive right past rivals' gas stations to come back to BP for more. BP stations could even charge more for their gas and still sell tons of the stuff.

So if there really was an additive that made gas burn up more slowly, it wouldn't be sold over the Internet one bottle at a time.

Likewise, car companies are already spending big bucks to increase fuel mileage. If General Motors could make its cars go significantly farther on a gallon simply by putting a device into the fuel line, don't think for a second it wouldn't be doing that. GM's car sales would go through the roof.

"There are a number of these gas-saving devices that are generally useless," says Champion.

But drivers who try them will swear they work. In reality, it's probably an automotive placebo effect, says Reed. Buy one of these devices or additives, and you're like to pay extreme attention to your fuel economy and how you drive.

Of course it can't hurt to keep a close eye on your driving habits -- and what kind of car you drive. In the end, that can make the most difference in saving gas.

Personal opinion: artikel dari CNN rasanya tidak 100% tepat. Sepertinya mengandung sedikit konspirasi perminyakan, karena saat ini mulai bermunculan produk yang nyatanya memang dapat menambah efisiensi BBM spt ethanol, bahkan dapat menggantikan BBM itu sendiri (walaupun belum terbukti secara ilmiah, namun bila dikembangkan secara serius, kemungkinan ke arah situ tetap ada).

Sudah menjadi rahasia umum, kalau Amerika memberlakukan pajak 100% terhadap ethanol dari Brazil (atau Argentina ya?), sedangkan pajak untuk minyak dari Timur Tengah 0%.

mayan nambah ilmu..nambahin juga neh..isilah bensin di pom yang sering jadi langganan angkot,,jadi kalau di pom itu banyak angkot gantri di situ,nah sebaiknya kita mengisinya di pom tersebut.
sopir angkot biasanya paling tahu mana pom yang bener apa nakal..? just inpo loh..h...h....h.

dulu mobil gw minumnya shellsuper... karena kebiasaan, gw bisa memprediksi berapa liter yang akan terisi dgn akurasi 95%, bahkan beberapa kali 99% (tidak dengan koma liter yah bro..) di POM Shell manapun... kualitas juga sama aja, entah ini sugesti atau bukan tapi akselerasi mesin terasa begitu... tapi udah gak mampu lagi sekarang... jadilah ke premium...

tentunya gw selalu isi di pom2 pasti pas... but... akurasi gw jadi berkurang tuh.. mungkin ini karena usia gw yg sudah lebih tua beberapa bulan, hiks.... susah nebak dengan tepat berapa liter yang akan masuk ke tangki... apalagi kalo pomnya ganti2 walopun semuanya pasti pas... dan juga, anehnya, rasa di mesin lain2... kok bisa yah?? ada yg tarikannya lebih berat...padahal sama2 pasti pas... again, ini cuma pengalaman gw aja...

Saya jg dah coba .. Isi sesuai saran di pagi hari atau malam tp gak ampe ngotot pk mode nozzlenya slow pa fast bis keder juga petugasnya kumisan tebel xixixi.. Pada saat suhu gak tinggi.. Ada sedikit perbedaan sih tapi bener gak bener hanya melihat indikator jarum fuel.. Biasa isi cepek biasa dpt 2 garis kurang n diisi pagi hari.. Dpt 2 garis pas lebih dikiitt bgt.
Kalo habis ngisi langsung diliat jarum fuel-nya gak ada pengaruhnya, karena bbm masih dingin dan belum memuai volumenya. Kalo bbm sdh naik suhunya baru akan memuai volumenya dan akan membuat jarum fuel indicator naik. Tapi kalo ngukur fuel indicator nunggu suhu bbm naik agak susah, krn habis ngisi mobil/motor langsung dibawa jalan lagi yg artinya bbm langsung berkurang krn dipake.

Dulu pernah ada yg nyaranin ttg pom bensin yg banyak angkotnya. Sebetulnya kurang tepat jg. Sopir angkot hanya peduli dengan kuantitas bensin yg masuk, tapi ga peduli dengan kualitas bensin itu sendiri. Kalu mesin jebol, mereka ga keluar duit ini khan?

Yg baik cari pom bensin yg relatif ramai dgn mobil pribadi. Biasanya kualitas dan kuantitasnya termasuk bagus. Contohnya, pom bensin di sektor 9, bintaro jaya. Walaupun bukan pasti pas, tapi ramainya minta ampyun. Dijamin macet sekitar situ. Padahal di sekitarnya sudah ada pom bensin lain (2-3 pasti pas, 1 petronas, 1 shell).

bangga juga, pertamina masih dipercaya daripada SPBU asing.
