The 2014 Mazda6 sedan made its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The first version, equipped with a SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter gasoline engine, goes on sale in January. The SKYACTIV-D-equipped diesel version will follow in the second half of the year, making Mazda the first Asian manufacturer to offer a modern-technology clean-diesel engine in a non-commercial vehicle in North America.
Expected to offer a high amount of torque as well as cleaner combustion, the SKYACTIV-D 2.2L is 10% lighter than the current MZR 2.2-liter diesel engine sold in other global markets. Other improvements include internal engine friction reduced by 20% and fuel economy increases by up to 20%.
This is achieved by using a new two-stage turbocharger








IMO:
Kalo teman2 udah dengar halusnya mesin Santa Fe CRDi, maka mesin Skyactive D si Mazda ini mungkin akan sama halusnya atau bisa lebih halus lagi since kompresi lebih rendah dan 2 stage Turbo, adanya komponen di saluran exhaust & intake membantu "membekap" suara ledakan Diesel dari cylinder.

Ini sama spt active braking di Focus, jadi kalo kecepatan rendah en di depan ada obstacle dia bisa ngerem sendiri

Spt nya sistem utk memaksimalkan energy saat deselerasi, jadi engine brake dibantu dengan pembebanan oleh alternator utk menghasilkan energy listrik yg besar, kemudian disimpan dalam batere, jadi saat jalan normal beban alternator jadi kecil sekali krn kebutuhan listrik di mobil akan di supply oleh si batere (teorinya spt itu yaa)
Mungkin ada mirip spt Blueeficiency nya MB, cuman canggih mana aye gak paham
