Udah ah.... Jadi OOT terus.. Bedewei, soal 0-402, muscle cars teknologi karbu OHV rata2 main di angka 13 besar 14 kecil loh K4ng. Bobotnya udah 2 ton lebih rata2.

Memang sih, mesinnya segede gaban, the bigger the better, V8 rules the dragstrip. Mo dikalkulasi rasio nett output per displacement nya kalah jauh ma Habanja....

Y itu, K4ng, power to displacement ratio.

Jelasnya gini. Ambil referensi terpercaya ane soal muscle car, contoh Ponty GTO yang kayak di film Triple X itu.

Ambil versi HO (High Outputnya), displacement 400 CID (dikali ama 16,387 untuk dapet angka CC nya) = 6.550 CC (mamma mia..), gross SAE rating hasilin output power 360 HP.

Nah, terminologi 'gross SAE rating' ini berarti bare engine alias diukur di flywheel TANPA komponen apapun yang melekat di mesin, semisal pompa air, alternator, kompresor AC, dll. Ini dengan standar pengukuran jaman sekarang jelas gak valid lagi.

Okaylah kita abaikan dulu soal gross versus nett itu. Taruhlah 6.550 CC nya Ponty GTO si monster itu bisa hasilin 360 HP, means 55 HP/liter. Avanza/mesin2 modern pasti menang jauh laaaa....

Silahkan yg senengnya hp/l; gw carinya yg gede power-nya dan awet. Pernah mempertimbangkan kalo, misalnya, untuk output power maksimum ug sama; contohnya di 400 hp. Mending pake mesin 2.0l 4-cyl atau 6.0l 8-cyl ? Kira2 awet yg mana ? Kira2 yg enak dipake se-hari2 yg mana ?

Gw pilih LS6 di CTS-V gw yg angka hp/l-nya sangat rendah, hanya 70hp/l.

Dasar teknisnya apa y om PV hingga bila mesin yang lebih kecil displacementnya akan kalah awet ketimbang mesin berdisplacement lebih gede, untuk output power yang sama?

ane malah pengen GM LS7 505hp..... cm 2valve per cyl..... tp mesin + transmisinya aja..... mobilnya ga usah....

Walah, penjelasannya butuh satu semester di mata kuliah "internal combustion engines". Tapi logikanya gampang koq, dgn power yg sama dibagi 4 silinder kan per silindernya mesti "ditendang" lebih kenceng daripada kalo dibagi antara 8 silinder. Tendangan ini istilah kerenya BMEP (Brake Mean Effective Pressure) alias tekanan waktu campuran angin-bensin disulut dan terbakar.

BMEP yg tinggi (forced induction) juga berarti piston ngobosnya lebih banyak (oli lebih cepat kotor, ring piston umurnya lebih pendek, dll) dan semaking tinggi BMEP-nya, semakin sensitif ke kualitas BBM. Jadi mesin yg (static) displacement-nya rendah dan dikasih forced induction stressnya tinggi.

Pernah menyelidiki kenapa mesin2 Toyota terkenal awet ? Terutama mesin Land Cruiser yg jaman F atau 2F ? Coba lihat perbandingan kompresi dan redline-nya. CR sekitar 7.8-8:1 dan redline 3600 rpm. Pantesan aja bandel. Alon-alon asal kelakon kalo bahasa jawanya. Mau kenceng ? Bisa, tapi ada konsekuensinya.

Ada tuh, GM bikin LS7 "crate engine". Transmisi tinggal pake Tremec T56 atau T6060. Kalo mau matik ada 4l80E atau yg paling gres 6-sp auto 6L60E, 6L80E, dan 6L90E. Tinggal duitnya ...
