Sebenernya sih kalo cuma mo bawa sehari2, ga masalah koq mau torsion beam or independent. Bbrp mfg memilih torsion beam mungkin untuk alasan cost saving karena mobil yang dibuat kan juga tidak performance oriented. Corolla kan lebih identik dengan mobil rakyat, cuma karena di Indo harganya mahal jadi kelasnya beda
Bahkan Civic Euro Type R hatchback juga masih torsion beam koq

Tetep aja klo dibandingin ama Full independent di blkg... nyaman full-independent....
CAMRY aja tetep mempertahankan Full Independent yg simple (cm dual-link strut + Machperson strut) tp efektif...
Cost-saving??? for IDR 300million mid-sedan..... non-sense...
Anyway, the competitor use Full independent....

"Unfortunately, when we sit in the back seat, the comfortness of this Civic Hatchback disturbed by the Torsion-beam suspension, especially when we test the car at the cavity road...
"You know the Torsion-beam is not comfort as independent suspension"

lampu "si pirates", lampu belakangnya kiri putih, kanan merah; said as lampu kabut.
kapan keluar yg dual vvt-i seperti versi luar ya, mungkin 2010 nih.
Styling dashboad & interiornya minim, spt mobil kemarin.
Speedometernya dikatakan optitron, tapi koq tidak "hidden display" (saat mesin off) spt yg optitron toyota lain yah? spt bukan optitron, gitu.

Gue sih netral gak milih-milih mobil... mazda 3 tuh keren bgt... hatchback but Full independent

Tapi iya juga seh kenapa Corolla dari generasi twin cam, great, all new, sampe generasi terakhir ini tetap pake torsiom beam ya..tapi untuk sektor kenyamanan ga kalah dari kompetitor yg sdh independent.

Gue bahas masalah torsion-beam (semi-independent) bla bla bla... vs independent bla bla bla...
So, kesimpulannya adalah... biar gimanapun kenyamanan dan kestabilan kaki-kaki full-independent vs semi independent (torsion beam, dll)... memang lbh unggul Full-Independent... Tapi klo dari segi easy maintenance & cost saving, lebih unggul si torsion beam...
That's why mobil-mobil yg dikategorikan medium-saloon oleh toyota seperti Camry, dan SUV seperti RAV4, harrier, dsb... memakai full-independent.. namun konstruksi kaki-kaki Full-independent yg digunakan simpel & easy maintenance, but effective.... Full-independent itu punya jarak pergerakan suspensi yg terbaik, dan masing-masing roda bisa bergerak sendiri-sendiri tanpa menganggu roda yg lain...
But... why Corolla still use the torsion-beam til today??... Only Toyota Asia Development Division can answer this....
Tapi, coba liat deh & tanya ke orang-orang, forum, majalah, dsb... kenapa toyota corolla dari dulu tidak pernah menang soal HANDLING & STABILITAS vs mobil-mobil sekelas yg sudah menggunakan konstruksi Full-Independent??... Bahkan temen saya sendiri punya beberapa mobil tsb (Altis 04, Civic 04, & Old 90's BMW 3 series, etc...).. dalam hal ini gue gak akan ngebandingin mobil-mobil tersebut... tapi pada kenyataannya semua mobil tersebut dalam keadaan shock-absorber yg sudah diganti dgn merk KONI.. tetep Corolla Altis can't beat the others...
Don't compare with BMW + KONI..!!!.. even it's OLD BEEEMER..

Bro2 disini semua ga perlu berantem.. menurut saya memang full independent lebih memiliki kenyamanan dan kestabilan lebih jadi untung juga tapi torsion beam juga bagus biaya cost lebih murah dan lebih hemat tempat ex: honda city bagasinya bisa ngalahin bagasinya civic cz ga ada gundukan suspensi yg berlebih di bagasi jadi lebih luas, sekarang terserah bro disini semua mau cari mobil full independent nyaman makan tempat dan mahal apa torsion beam murah (perawatannya) cukup nyaman (menurut saya) dan tidak terlalu makan tempat.. Tapi rata2 mobil balap emang pake double wishbone independen (FORMULA 1)..dan setiap suspensi punya kelebihan dan kekurangan masing2

Bro disini semua kalo mau stabil mana mobil independen sama torsion beam bisa dilihat waktu ITCC saya pernah baca wawancara pembalap ITCC yg pernah pake porsche 911 standar dgn jazz ITCC dia bilang masih akurat dan stabil jazz ITCC yg suspensinya untuk balap.. pertama saya ga percaya.. tapi setelah dipikir2 lagi why not setiap mobil pasti punya kemampuan maksimal stabilitasnya ... note : ini omongannya pembalap lo bukan amatiran hehehe..

Walau itu porsche.. tapi tetep aja dirancang buat bisa comfort di jalan raya... beda ama jazz... yg bodinya compact & jauh lbh ringan apalg ITCC... tapi coba bandinginnya yg relevan dong.. misal antara CIVIC ITCC vs JAZZ ITCC... klo ada...
