The Kawasaki Ninja 250R (EX250 in the U.S., and GPX250 elsewhere) is a long-standing model in Kawasaki's lineup, introduced in 1986 and continuing in production as of 2007. The 2007 model has an MSRP of $2,999 USD. The 250R is marketed as an entry-level sport motorcycle intended for normal use on paved roads. Compared to present industry designs, the 250R is more a "sporty-standard" motorcycle with a fairing than a true sport bike, considering its ergonomics, chassis design, and engine placement within the frame. As of 2007, the 250R is produced in Thailand.
The 250R is light for a motorcycle, weighing just over 300 lb (135 kg) dry. It's 250 cc, counterbalanced, water cooled, four stroke engine is smooth for a twin-cylinder. Though it is not exceptionally powerful with 36 hp (27 kW) at best, it can easily maintain speeds in excess of 80 mph (130 km/h). It can maintain a fuel (87 octane) consumption rating of 55 to 75 miles per gallon (22 to 30 km/L) with it's 4.8 US gallon (18 L) tank. The 250R has a top speed of about 100 mph (160 km/h).
The Ninja 250 faces very little direct competition within its class inside the United States. The main competitors are the other 250 cc "beginner bikes", namely Honda's Rebel 250 and Nighthawk 250, the Suzuki GZ250, and the Yamaha Virago 250. With the exception of the Nighthawk (a standard), these bikes are all cruisers. None of these bikes can match the Ninja 250's greater power, 14,000 rpm redline, 6-speed gearbox, tachometer, centerstand, or front and rear disc brakes. All of them have an advantage over the stock Ninja with their rear suspension preload adjustability, although the Kawasaki "Uni-Trak®" system is more advanced and may be upgraded.
Kl gak salah, sekitar sept taon lalu sempet eluar di tabloid otomotif kl kawasaski mao bikin motor ninja 250. Krg lbh speknya monosok, water cooler, 2 cyl dohc, up-side down shock. Tp hrg estimasi sktr 45 juta. Stlh survei, akhirnya dibatalin krn hrg kemahalan. Mungkin mao keluar yg murahan kl ya.
Kl gue, mending beli hyosung yg 650cc, harga beda 20 juta tp dpt motor gede yg bener2 moter gede.
masing2 silinder 125 cc, kayak aprilia RS 250 cuma klo aprilia 2 tak. klo murah kayakmya ga mungkin deh KRR ja dah 35 jutaan itu 2 tak apalagi 4 tak biasanya lebih gila mahalnya, mungkin kawasaki 250 sekitar 40 jutaan harganya.

yah mudah2an aja proyek ini merupakan proyeknya ATPM (bukannya CBU spt KRR), sehingga bisa menekan harga, minimal lebih dikit dah dari ninja R, artinya paling mahal dijual 20an aja. kan ga pake pajak mahal dan proses njlimet spt halnya KRR yg di import BU. tinggal cari vendor dalam negeri utk menekan harga sehingga kandungan lokalnya lebih banyak. ato kalo ga, pake mesin motor buatan BPPT aja yg gosipnya 400cc, kan udah ada prototypenya, tinggal cari rekanan utk produksi, nah KMI aja yg jadi rekanannya, lumayan motor ninja rasa indonesia/BPPT, yg penting hrs melalui proses QC standar kawasaki. lumayankan, sekaligus memajukan motor nasional...
kalo mesinnya bppt punya, bukan motor kawasaki dong namanya. Mesin tetap harus asli dong (beserta komponen2nya), dan yang selain mesin boleh lokal. Cring cring cring, harga bisa ditekan...
emang jadi bukan kawsaki sih bro, ya kalo nggak, spt bro Jo bilang, mesin aja yg kawsaki, part yg lain pake lokal. ato bisa juga sih menurut ane dijajaki dgn cara proses kerjasama BPPT dgn Kawsaki menciptakan mesin yg baru. nah kawasaki menyediakan tehnologi dan QC sedangkan BPPT pengembangan materialnya, yg tentu saja ada proses semacam alih tehnologi gitu. yah kaya honda thai aja, yg udah bisa ngembangin mesin produksi dalam negeri dgn kualitas standar pusat. sorri kalo salah....

nah ini gw stuju 100%, mesin buatan BPPT lebih bagus kok bro, kita aja kadanf ga mo pandang tekno negeri sendiri contohnya pesawat buatan IPTN itu kecanggihannya di atas buatan amrik lho dari segi desainnya buktinya ampe dicontek ma perusahaan amrik, moga2 aja ada yang mo produksinya. kan murah ga pake biaya lisensi kayak yang lain.
