newbie neh, mohon masukan senior2 :)
kemaren ane ditawarin bengkel make oli FK MASSIMO, geloo mahal abis, 350rb per gallon tapi katanya worth it bisa ampe 10.000km n yang pasti lebih awet buat mesin?
mohon masukan dong, atau ada rekomen oli lain? denger2 conoco (g juga baru denger merk oli ini 3 bulan terakhir) sama bagusnya ama mobil1

Yang gue tau, FK Massimo dipake a.l. oleh Dalvin (CK Motorsport) di mobil jazz balapnya untuk OMR di Sentul...

Kalau ada penjual yg menyebut oli bisa jalan sejauh XXXX rb. Km itu harus ada dasarnya.


Mungkin bisa disebutkan :

Viscosity Indexnya ?

HTHS nya ?

TBN nya ?

Four Ball bearing test nya ?

NOACK volatility nya ?

API Service / ACEA ratingnya ?

Four Ball Wear (ASTM D-4172)

The Four Ball Wear Test determines the wear protection properties of a lubricant. Three metal balls are clamped together and covered with the test lubricant, while a rotating fourth ball is pressed against them in sliding contact. This contact typically produces a wear scar, which is measured and recorded. The smaller the average wear scar, the better the wear protection provided by the lubricant.


High Temperature/High Shear (ASTM D-4683)

The High Temperature/High Shear Test measures a lubricant's viscosity under severe hightemperature and shear conditions that resemble highly-loaded journal bearings in fired internal combustion engines. In order to prevent bearing wear, it is important for a lubricant to maintain its protective viscosity under severe operating conditions. The minimum High Temperature/High Shear viscosity for a 30 weight oil is 2.9 cP


NOACK Volatility (ASTM D-5800)

The NOACK Volatility Test determines the evaporation loss of lubricants in high temperature service. The more motor oils vaporize, the thicker and heavier they become, contributing to poor circulation, reduced fuel economy and increased oil consumption, wear and emissions. A maximum of 15 percent evaporation loss is allowable to meet API SL and ILSAC GF-3 specifications.

Gw di sini pake Mobil1 synthetic sampe 10k miles (16k km) dan mobilnya pake turbo (2 Eagle Talon TSi AWD yg dipakai buat se-hari2 dan buat balapan juga). Mobil2 gw yang lainnya juga pake Mobil1 synthetic dan gantinya setiap 10k miles (filter oli ganti setiap 5k miles/8k km). Dari Civic sampe M3. Corvette ganti tiap 2 thn sekali, krn setahun di bawah 4k miles (6.5k km) jalannya :)

Kalau Mobil1 Synthetic lebih murah, ngapain bayar mahal2. Yg lebih murah bisa buat jangka waktu yang lebih panjang.

Di US harga Mobil 1 Full Synth. / Tri Synth. nggak mahal, dulu tahun 2001 cuman 4 dollaran per quart, skg. mungkin sekitar 6 dollaran / quart (CMIIW). Di OZ juga harganya nggak mahal, di Indo harganya 2X harga di US :(

Utk oli Full Synth. di Indo yg harganya value for money yaitu Caltex Havoline Energy Full Synth. 5W-40. CHE FS udah comply dgn BMW Long Life oil, TBN nya 10 an bisa dipakai utk jarak jauh. Di Ayung Rp. 70 rb. / l.

Utk oli semi sintetik ber VI tinggi mendekati oli Full Synth. yg paling value for money Total Quartz 9000, di koh Ayung cuman Rp. 40 rb. / l. (TQ 9000 sih tulisannya Full Synth., tapi diduga kuat itu oli semi synth. CMIIW)


Kalau utk spend s/d Rp. 110 - 120 rb. / liter mending coba oli2 Full Synth. dr. Amsoil (yg 10W-40 AMO, 5W-40, 5W-30, etc.) harga di Indo mirip Mobil 1 tetapi kinerja di atas Mobil 1. VI nya rata rata di atas 170, TBN nya 12 an, jadi bisa dipakai hingga jarak jauh, yg 0W-30 bahkan VI nya sampai 195 !! Amsoil salah 1 produsen yg berani mencantumkan angka HTHS (http://www.amsoil.com)

Sama bro, gw jg pake Mobil1. :) Gw ganti setiap 10.000 km. Kalo 5.000 km paling nambah aja.

Havoline bagus ga? waktu wa ke Ichan Motor, wa minta ganti oli audi, wa pengennya sih SHell tapi dia bilang Havoline juga bagus, (yg full syn) terus bisa buat 10K Km

wa sih manggut2 krn liat mobil2 yg masuk sono sekelas bentley ama NSX

nanya dong, gw bingung ni soal API Service, kalo SG tu apa ya maxutnya? trus yang lebih tinggi dari SG apa? trararengkyu,,,

Kalo saya setiap 4000km (max 5000km)
selalu ganti oli sekaligus oil filter

Oli racing yg mahal2 (biasanya lebih encer) gak selalu cocok buat daily use (baca: bermacet2 di Jakarta).

yaa bener banget kata bung mike...

oli racing kalo mobilnya biasa aja biasanya cepat habis karena lebih gampang menguap

Mending pakai aja yg direkomendasi pabrik, atau setingkat lebih tinggi.

Okay.. sekedar Sharing pengalaman yang gw dapet dan gw coba yah
tiap oli ada kelemahan dan kelebihan..

Untuk Oil Shell , all type ini oil Recomended buat yang dally use , dan untuk menjaga ke awetan ni oli OK banget.. , dah lagi harganya cukup terjangkau..
kelemahanya ya Untuk bidang Performance ini oli Kurang lah.. , jadi kalo lu nyari performance aja not recomended..

Mobil 1 S, ni oli lumayan lah buat , daly use.. harganya sedeng2 ajah .., performance lumayan.. di bilang bagus banget juga engga , bisa di bilang ga lebih bagus dari oli Global petro..
jadi untuk oli ini lumayan..

Red Line.., buat performance Ok nih oli.. , cukup encer dan bagu.. kelemahanya harganya cukup mahal dan Karena terlalu encer untuk mobil DOHC yang di lengkapin "HLA" pasti terjadi paduan suara yang cukup berisik..

FK Massimo N/A beat.. , BUat performance Cukup okay banget la.. , harganya yah .. lumayan sebanding dengan kualitasnya.. , kekurangnya..
ni oli lebih cenderung untuk performance jadi ni oli Cepet banget kotor.., so sebaiknya jgn melebihi 5000km.. biasanya malah 3000km udah kotor dulu..
jadi sering2 di cek.. kalo olinya udah Item sebaiknya buru ganti..

sedikit saran dan masukan ( terserah mo di ikutin ato engga juga monggo) , sebaiknya kalo oli tuh jgn pernah sampe telat menganti , dan yang baik itu 5000km langsung ganti ,untuk kenyamanan.
kalo ada yang Recomend bisa sampe 10.000 or lebih .. yah saran sih lebih baik 5000km aja di ganti , dan gw diri pun ga percaya ..

karena oli ibarat darah sebagai mobil kita , sangat riskan banget dengan mobil kita , kalo mo awet ya sebaiknya 5000km ganti..
bahkan buat di jakarta ini di saranin 4000km di ganti ( gw pun begitu) , karena di jakarta ini lebih banyak terkena Maced.. (mesin mobil jalan , mobil diem kan ,km ga gerak) .. turs kotor dan berdebu udaranya.. so apa salahnya kita lebih cepat menganti oli , untuk menjaga keawetan mesin mobil..

... semoga bisa membantu deh..

kalo gue nggak pernah fanatik ama satu merk.
tergantung duit di dompet :D abisnya mobil gue ngabisin 6 liter sih setiap ganti oli :D
terakhir gue pake castrol magnatec 10/40 kayak gbr yg di post ama bos mike.
kalo harganya gue lupa deh berapa segalon nya
