Belta (Yaris sedan) goes global

The Yaris sedan will first go on sale in the US and a European derivative will be launched later this year, which will go on sale in South Africa too.

It shares its engineering and most of its styling cues with that of its hatchback sibling.

Of course the sedan also comes with a comprehensive safety package and airbags, ABS, EBD, Emergency Brake Assist are standard.

When it goes on sale in South Africa the Yaris sedan will probably feature the same 63 kW 1.3-litre engine as the hatchback.

There is no official indication when the Yaris sedan will arrive in SA but it will probably only be in the third or fourth quarter.
Next generation Vios goes global? :wink:

Mr conan,

Sebenarnya Toyota Belta (Yaris Sedan) ini bukanlah penerus generasi Toyota Soluna atau (Soluna) Vios yg ada di Asia ini.

Walaupun mereka berbagi parts dan mesin juga, nyatanya sedan baru ini BUKAN penerus (Soluna) Vios, melainkan penerus Toyota Echo Sedan, dimana merupakan versi sedan dari ECHO, yang di Jepang bernama VITZ, di Eropa bernama YARIS, dan di beberapa negara lain bernama ECHO (kebiasaan Toyota membuat produk sama bernama berbeda). Di Jepang sendiri, Echo atau Vitz versi sedan ini bernama PLATZ.

Berbeda dengan Vios yang hanya ada di kebanyakan Negara Asia, Echo sedan generasi lama dijual di berbagai belahan dunia sepeti saya sebutkan di atas.

Tapi tak tertutup kemungkinan Vios di Indonesia diteruskan oleh sedan baru ini (dan) dengan nama Vios juga, seperti halnya Aerio sedan pada Baleno sekarang ini.

Ya, memang bukan, tapi dengan sudah adanya Belta ini, I don't see why Toyota Thailand would waste a lot of time and money developing another small sedan.

Kalo Vios dari berbentuk T1 Concept hingga jadi (Soluna) Vios memang dikembangkan Toyota khusus buat market Asia buat pasar ASEAN memang disupply dari TMT (Toyota MOtor Thailand), tapi di China dibuat Tianjin-Toyota.

Development Vios dulu bukan cuma oleh pihak TMT, tapi dari Toyota Motor Corp. juga, dari negara Asia lain juga......

tapi kata2 mr. detective "Next Generation Vios" bisa membuat orang terkecoh.....

Mr. WP, kalau Anda lihat di judul thread ini, aku sama sekali tidak menyebut 'Vios', dan aku menekankan bahwa mobil ini adalah Belta atau Yaris sedan.

Pada 'next generation Vios' aku menggunakan '?', semata2 untuk memancing diskusi tentang kemungkinan Belta ini eventually akan menjadi the next gen Vios. Yah, seperti diskusi dengan Anda ini. Kalau tidak begini, rasanya orang2 tidak akan berkomentar banyak karena members forum ini kebanyakan hanya tertarik membahas model2 yang akan atau mungkin akan masuk ke sini..

toh, kalopun dijual di Indo sama TAM nanti, Vios pasti distop....atau bisa juga tetap pakai nama Vios...

Btw kalo belta berasal echo, berarti dimensi belta ini kemungkinan juga lebih kecil dari vios?? Karena gue pernah liat echo aslinya, ternyata lebih kecil dari vios/soluna.

Tapi emang ada kemungkinan juga belta akan jadi penerus vios di asia. Cuman kalo liat model belta secara keseluruhan, kayaknya masih lebih cakep vios yg sekarang ini. Apa mungkin bisa sejaya vios?

Btw ada yg tao apakah belta ada rencana masuk asian dan kapan?

Yang gue tao, Toyota Taiwan di tahun 2006 ini akan meluncurkan:
New Previa, vitz, new camry (bulan 5) dan new altis (minor facelift di bulan 3), sama sekali tidak ada kabar tentang belta.

Iya betul.... belakangnya kayak mobil2 buatan korea gitu, bentuk lampu belakangnya juga jelek... lebih cocok pake emblem KIA daripada emblem toyota :roll: .

Rasanya pihak TAM tidak akan memasukkan Belta ini ke tanah air. Karena VIOS baru saja mengalami face-lift. Pihak TAM lagi fokus pada hatchback barunya : Toyota YARIS / VITZ ! Dan sudah bisa inden, cukup Rp 5jt bisa langsung pilih warna dan transmisi. WOW !!!

Bukannya tidak akan memasukkan Belta bung Digi,

tapi bisa aja dan kemungkinan besar, bisa aja pada 2007 atau akhir 2006 dimana nantinya bakal jadi model year 2007.

Kebiasaan Toyota adalah facelift ringan dulu produknya beberapa bulan sebelum keluar produk baru. Kaya Kijang 2003 dan Camry 2002

Sori OOT....baru liat newsletter internal auto2000 dari sales yang jual innova dulu...guess what...Yaris tipe s limited a/t akan dijual dengan sistem kunci yang pake engine start/stop... saya lupa pernah liat di mobil apa...tapi kayanya mobil2 mewah semua...dan ini bakal dipake di yaris high-end...berarti belta high-end nantinya juga akan pake teknologi itu..

E M/T Rp 140-145 jutaan
E A/T Rp 150-155 jutaan

S M/T Rp 160-165 jutaan
S A/T Rp 170-175 jutaan

Grade 'S' tampaknya dilengkapi airbag, ABS dll. Tapi grade manakah yang akan paling banyak dibeli orang Indon? Yes, that's the answer.

Model vios lebih manis dari pada belta ini! Asalkan modelnya jangan kaya honda city yang depan ama belakang kaga serasi!

Kalo E M/T harganya paling murah sih...kalo S A/T cuma beda dikit sama Vios...

Meskipun begitu, Vios lebih banyak yg G M/T daripada E M/T, mungkin karena harganya gak begitu jauh..

Tipe E M/T dan E A/T pasti lebih banyak dibeli karena harganya. And kalo gw sendiri juga prefer tipe E A/T karena selisih dgn tipe S bisa buat modifikasi! Biar tampil beda, karena Yaris pasti bakal menjamur and ga mau sama dgn yg laen hehe..

Kalo saya rasa si masalah orang indo bukan di tipe yang paling rendahnya...

tipe yaris itu 4.. e m/t, e a/t, s a/t, s a/t limited...

case vios, avanza, innova, altis...lebih laku yang tipe G semua kan?? Tapi tebak, yang paling laku (avanza udah pasti) G M/T...Transmisi menentukan...orang Indo belum banyak yang siap pake transmisi automatic...
Orang yang nyetir sendiri justru lebih seneng pake manual, kenapa?? Karena mobil manual MASIH bisa diparkir paralel...gw pernah ngeliat kasus di mangga dua mobil matic susah banget cari parkir...krn gak bisa paralel...dengan semakin banyaknya mobil di jakarta, saya rasa justru mobil manual akan semakin laku...

Gue rasa orang indo lebih pilih manual lebih karena faktor harga ketimbang faktor yang lain (faktor kenyamanan misalnya), beda 10 juta antara manual dan matic bagi sebagian besar masy. indo itu besar lho.

Mr. Datsu, apa maksudnya mobil manual masih bisa di parkir pararel? Maksudnya saat parkir pararel mobil manual masih bisa didorong gitu???

Apa ada mobil matic yang nggak ada shiftlock nya?

Dengan shiftlock, kunci bisa dilepas pada posisi N, bukan P. Jadinya mobil bisa didorong-dorong dan bisa parkir paralel...

Betul Mr. Aidan, justru itu yg gue mau tanyakan sama Mr. datsu. Tapi mobil2 matic yg lama ada lho yg gak ada shiftlock-nya. Emang mobil2 matic yg baru umumnya udah dilengkapi shiftlock jadi sebenarnya gak ada mslh parkir pararel.

So Mr. Datsu apa betul yg u maksud semua mobil matic diparkir pararel itu gak bisa di dorong gitu?

Terus terang kalo saya mungkin juga pilih manual, abis biasanya mobil kecil kalo matic rada2 bikin frustasi kalo diajak ngebut.....

boil kecil manual kayanya lebih fun to drive.....
