Refinements that redefine the idea of a premium sedan

EXTERIOR
A striking design that looks superb in any light. New exterior features include headlight LED accents and daytime running lights plus power-folding side mirrors with convenient approach lights.

Redesigned front.
Unique LED headlight accents flank a redesigned grille and sit above a new front bumper. The result gives the new Genesis a more aggressive look.

Updated profile.
The side mirror shape is new, offering a power-folding feature and convenient integrated approach lights that light the ground as you enter and exit the vehicle. Just below the doors, a revised lower side panel adds to the dynamic flow of the design.

New rear design.
Considering all of the power that its engine generates, this is a view of the Genesis most of the world will remember. Here, you will notice new tail lights and dual exhaust tips that are integrated into a design that adds a sleek finishing touch.
INTERIOR
Subtle, rich woodgrain and supple leather surfaces are enhanced by heated rear seats and an exclusive 528-watt Lexicon® 7.1 Discrete Audio System with 17 speakers.

Quiet zone.
The sound of the 3.8L V6 engine has been muted by a maintenance-free, steel silent timing chain. Sound dampening innovations like these make for a quieter cabin. Perhaps we should make some noise for our team of accomplished acoustic engineers.

Premium seating.
Comfort that transcends the journey and helps you arrive refreshed starts with a heated and cooled driver seat and heated front and rear passenger seats

All things audio.
And for those times when quiet just won’t cut it, the Genesis gives you options. Power-up the exclusive 528-watt Lexicon® 7.1 Discrete Surround Sound Audio System with 17 speakers and experience the most sophisticated audio system in the Genesis’s class. Connecting music sources to the audio system is a snap with standard iPod®/USB and auxiliary input jacks and a power outlet located in the center console box.

Two ways to navigate.
Two navigation systems feature either a 7-inch touchscreen or a Multimedia Controller and Driver Information System (DIS) with an 8-inch display. Both systems have a text-to-speech feature, XM® Satellite Radio with NavTraffic® and display images from the rearview camera when backing up.

Hands-free calling.
A Bluetooth® hands-free phone system is standard for conversations with the world beyond the acoustic-laminated windows of the Genesis.
Performance
3.8L V6 engine
4.6L V8 engine
5.0L V8 engine
Along with rear-wheel drive, the 2012 Genesis is now offered with your choice of three powerful engines, an all-new 8-speed automatic transmission and a new range-topping model, the Genesis 5.0 R-Spec, that puts 429 hp at your command.
Two new Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines include a 3.8L V6 and a 5.0L 429-hp V8 that has more horsepower than the 2011 Lexus GS 460 and 2011 Mercedes-Benz E550. This high-performance V8 is at the heart of a new Genesis model—the 5.0 R-Spec

Two award-winning V8 engines.
In addition to the impressive Tau® 4.6L V8, the 2012 Genesis is available with a new 5.0L high-performance Tau V8 that generates 429 hp and 376 lb.-ft. of torque. This design features Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) for more power, increased fuel efficiency and lower emissions. Industry acclaim for this new V8 has been as swift as its acceleration: Like the 4.6L in 2009 and 2010, the 5.0L is a winner of Ward’s 10 Best Engines for 2011.

8-speed automatic transmission.
In just a few years, Genesis engines have received awards and acclaim for their design, power and sophistication. And now these engines are matched with a new 8-speed SHIFTRONIC® automatic transmission that handles every driving situation with unobtrusive ease.

The Genesis 5.0 R-Spec.
For this new model, we started with the award-winning 5.0L Tau V8, then added a sport-tuned suspension, 19-inch premium machined finish alloy wheels and tires. Distinctive headlights with dark chrome inserts plus R-Spec badging on the exterior of the vehicle and the floor mats complete the transformation.

High-output 3.8L V6.
If having more horsepower than other luxury competitors’ V6 engines appeals to you, then read on. With 333 hp on tap, the Genesis 3.8L V6 offers plenty of power for making miles of interstate disappear or passing on two-lane roads. Once again, Gasoline Direct Injection is at the heart of this engine’s ability to generate smooth, efficient acceleration.
Safety
Advanced technology features, such as Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) with LCD cluster display and Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS) increase visibility and safety.

Lane Departure Warning System.
When vehicle speed exceeds 43 mph, this sophisticated driver assistance technology monitors the position of the vehicle in the lane. If the system detects movement out of the lane without use of a turn signal, a warning light and chime are activated enabling the driver to reposition the car.

Smart Cruise Control.
This feature removes much of the frustration when a car moves into your lane in front of you, forcing you to change your cruise control settings. When Smart Cruise Control is engaged, the driver can select a distance to be maintained from the vehicle in front. A radar sensor is located in the front bumper to judge the distance of cars ahead. When it detects a vehicle, it automatically slows the Genesis down, then maintains speed to return to the pre-set distance between vehicles.

Advanced active safety.
These safety systems monitor key dynamic inputs every microsecond you drive to help you avoid problems. Every Genesis is equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist.

Electronic Stability Control.
ESC uses sensors to measure the difference between a driver’s intended path and the actual position of the car. When a turn is more or less than intended, ESC applies appropriate braking to help the driver gain control. ESC also includes Traction Control System, which reduces wheelspin during acceleration for maximum traction.

Electronic active front head restraints.
In the event of a rear-end collision, the head restraints move forward in an instant to provide extra protection against whiplash injuries.

Adaptive Front Lighting System.
This system adjusts the path of the headlights to match the turning angle and direction of the vehicle for optimal illumination in turns.

HID Xenon headlights.
The exceptional quality of the HID Xenon headlights is an innovation you have to see to believe. And as you add passengers and luggage to the Genesis, the headlights automatically adjust so that the illumination remains parallel to the road surface.
