The RX 400h will be powered by a new version of the Hybrid Synergy Drive system that will pair the 3.3-liter V6 that normally powers the RX 330 with an electric motor.
Lexus says the hybrid system in the RX 400h is a breakthrough in hybrid technology in that it not only improves the fuel efficiency, but also improves the performance. The Hybrid Synergy Drive system in the RX 400h produces the equivalent of approximately 270 horsepower at peak power, compared to 230 horsepower for the current RX 330. The additional power will improve low and mid-range acceleration.

The RX 400h will use regenerative braking to improve efficiency with the electric motor functioning as a generator when the vehicle is coasting or braking and converting the energy that is normally lost during braking to electricity.

Ã¢â‚¬Å“We have found that it is not necessarily just about being green, or more fuel-efficient, or even about the higher level of performance. Rather it is all about delivering a better total package,Ã¢â‚¬Â stated Denny Clements, Lexus Group vice president and general manager when describing the RX 400h.

The RX 400h will be the first Lexus to employ a new vehicle stability system called Vehicle Dynamic Management, which Lexus states will be less obtrusive but more effective than current stability control systems.

The RX 400h will become the top model in the RX lineup and the luxury and convenience will reflect that position. Nearly every feature available in the RX 330 will be found in the RX 400h.

In addition, the RX 400h interior will incorporate brushed aluminum trim for a more high-tech look to reflect the high-tech nature of the vehicle. A computer monitor for the hybrid system is located in the center of the instrument panel.

Sebelum resmi diluncurkan saja, udah ada lebih dari 9,000 units Lexus RX 400h yg di-indent oleh para calon pembeli.

Memang sebenarnya ini adalah Toyota Harrier, cuma di-rebadged jadi Lexus RX. Satu-satunya yg beda yah cuma teknologi Hybridnya saja

Chalupa, aku yakin Harrier juga akan keluar hybrid versionnya. Mungkin bersamaan dengan RX400h..

Hi guys, bener kata Chalupa, Harrier = Lexus RX. Untuk merk di US, Eropa dan sebagian kawasan Asia dijual dgn merk Lexus RX, sedangkan bbrp negara kayak di Indo dijual dengan merk Toyota Harrier.

Jadi Lexus RX400H hybrid kalo dijual di Indo maybe akan dijual dengan nama Toyota Harrier Hybrid.

Oh, sorry guys..maksud aku, Lexus selama ini adalah rebadged Toyota jadi sebenarnya yang duluan muncul adalah versi Toyotanya. Jadi, Toyota Harrier hybrid yang akan di-rebadged menjadi RX400h dan bukan sebaliknya. However, starting from the next generation models, Lexus will have their own unique models.

Kalau nggak salah, pernah liat di jalan, emblemnya Lexus, tapi mobilnya persis kayak Land Cruiser.

Hehehe ... emang bener. Land Cruiser dengan emblem Lexus itu memang cukup banyak. Dan untuk membedakannya cukup sulit, karena penggantian emblem itu kan cukup mudah. Bahkan KIJANG owner pun yang ingin mengganti logo TOYOTA di grill dengan emblem LEXUS (L) di grill sangat mudah (hehehe ... soalnya gw kan jual tuh grill yang ada emblem LEXUS-nya).

Nah untuk membedakan Land Cruiser versi TOYOTA atau LEXUS biasanya dari kualitas interiornya, spesifikasinya dan optional2nya.
