New MPV Mazda 5, Innova rival?

MPV baru Mazda5
(24/08/2004) - Mazda Motor Corp. sedang menyiapkan MPV baru yang akan tampil perdana Paris Motor Show bulan depan dan dipasarkan di Inggris pada 2005 dengan harga mulai ?4,000.
Mazda5 ini menggunakan platform yang sama dengan Ford Focus C-Max namun Mazda melakukan serangkain perubahan untuk membedakannya. Tidak seperti C-Max yang lima kursi, Mazda5 tersedia dalam pilihan 7 dan 6 kursi serta sepasang pintu geser di samping untuk memudahkan akses keluar masuk.
Pada versi tujuh kursi, kursi tengah di baris kedua bisa dilipat dan disimpan di kursi sebelahnya guna menambah ruang kargo. Mazda menyebutnya ?i>Six plus one? Mesin yang disedikan adalah 1.6 liter 104hp, 2.0 liter 148hp dan dua mesin turbodiesel diantaranya 1.6 liter 107 hp.
Mazda5 dilengkapi enam airbag, ABS, electric windows, remote central locking dan electric mirror dan sebagian besar varian dilengkapi dengan CD Player dan AC.
Mazda 5 merupakan model kelima generasi baru produk global Mazda setelah Mazda6, Mazda2, RX-8 dan Mazda3. (mobilku.com)

Wah modelnya keren habis,persis spt mitsu starspace yg pernah ku upload fotonya di tread new grandis.
Kalo mesinnya 1,6L mestinya harganya jg bisa ditekan lbh murah tuh?
Asiiik bakalan banyak pilihan MPV nih.
Bener juga indonesia akan jadi basis MPV seperti harapan memperindag,krn memang mayoritas menyukai kendaraan keluarga(bukan lg kendaraan NIAGA yg "dipaksa" menjadi kendaraan KELUARGA itu?
)

Kalo liat mesinnya 1.6L,memang gak bisa dibilang akan melawan stream yg 2.0L yg ber VItec itu,tapi saya yakin harganya akan berada di bawah stream,thus menggoyang penggemar "innova kelas bawah"!
Bahkan KIA carrens 2 pun akan dilibas oleh mazda ini.
Saya sendiri jujur aja,kalo dikasih 2 pilhan:mau mobil korea,atau mazda,dg siga akan milih mazda.
Heran mazda indo kok nasibnya kayak urban legend...

Hehehe jadi pusing ya ? Emang gw juga pusing. Belum lagi yang gw suka itu Mitsubishi GRANDIS. Denger2 GRANDIS bakal masuk sini lewat ATPM dan akan dipajang pada Jakarta Motor Show nanti.kok makin lama seluruh MPV jadi pada "mirip-mirip" semua ya?
Yah makin banyak pilihan makin asik n bikin pusing juga.

Mazda5 diragukan sukses di USA
(28/09/2004) - Mazda menjadwalkan menjual minivan Mazda5 di USA mulai musim gugur yang akan datang.
Model yang dianggap cocok untuk konsumen di Jepang dan Eropa, tapi diragukan di USA karena ukurannya yang kecil. Klaim Mazda, bahwa model terbarunya mampu memuat enam orang dewasa tidak banyak dipercaya.
Berbeda dengan versi Eropa yang menggunakan mesin 1.8 liter, 2.0 liter bensin dan 2.0 liter diesel, versi USA menggunakan mesin 2.3 liter bensin yang juga jadi optional Mazda3.

Dari gambar yg di-attached Herry sih, kelihatannya memang Mazda 5 itu adalah production version-nya dari Mazda MX-Flexa Concept ( http://www.serayamotor.com/diskusi/view ... 0987#20987 ). Saya engga terlalu sure juga, soalnya kemaren itu bung Conan (salah satu anggota forum SM ini) bilang production version-nya MX-Flexa adalah Mazda 4.WP wrote:Oh ya, kalo ga salah Mazda5 dibangun berdasar konsep Mazda MX-Flexa, is it correct?

PARIS -- Next fall, Mazda will enter a new segment in the United States with the Mazda5, a crossover between a wagon and a small minivan.
Though a perfect fit for Europe and Japan, the Mazda5 is a risk for the United States because of its small size. Although Mazda says the vehicle will seat six adults, the Mazda5 wheelbase is just 108 inches, and the overall length is 177 inches. That's even smaller than the Mazda MPV, which has a 111.8-inch wheelbase and 187.8-inch length.
The U.S. version will use the Mazda3's optional 2.3-liter inline-four engine, which makes 160 hp. Europe gets a choice of a 1.8-liter or 2.0-liter gasoline engine or a 2.0-liter diesel engine.
The Mazda5 will share much of its architecture with the Europe-market Ford Focus C-Max, said Joe Bakaj, Mazda Motor Corp. executive officer in charge of design and product development. Doing that gave Mazda the starting points for the suspension settings and the basis for its crash testing.
But Mazda made the suspension sportier than that of the Focus C-Max. And while the C-Max has swing-open doors, the Mazda5 has sliding rear doors.
Mazda chose to use sliders because of its market research of U.S. buyers. They said they didn't like their children swinging their doors into neighboring cars. They also disliked loading a child seat through the narrow opening of a swing-open door, Bakaj said.
Although Mazda will sell a seven-seat version of the car in Europe, the United States will get only the six-seater initially, in three rows of two seats. Bakaj said market research responses dictated the choice to go with six seats and a second-row step-through.
Mazda figures that adding cool features will attract young buyers starting families. The second- and third-row seats fold flat, and the second-row seat bottoms flip away to expose storage areas underneath. Seventeen-inch wheels are standard.
Mazda expects to sell about 20,000 units annually. Bakaj said the Mazda5 will be priced starting around $18,000.
