Becanda atuh K4nggggggggg.... Image Jelaslah, secara umum, mo ngebut2an si OHV kalahlah dari OHC. Kalo kencengan OHV y uda lama kan Ferrari cs. pake layout OHV? Saking aja si Viper ini CC nya segede kapal, plus menang material advanced.

Banyak yang pake enjin Ceroqi Chrysler Powertech 242 ama Chevy 350 SB tuh di monster2 spit oprud Indo K4ng setau ane....

Justru itulah keunggulannya panther k4ng, gak bisa ngebut, jd bikin pengendaranya lbh safety. Emang apanja ente di tol bisa jalan brp?

kalau menurut saya, ndak ada hubungannya OHV di indo dan OHV bule.. it was build on purpose, OHV dibuat dengan tujuan kenceng ya liatlah dodge viper, makanya punya cc besar, material yang lebih advance, dll.. kalau melihat OHV yang di panther ya beda lagi tho? ohv yang dibuat dengan tujuan ekonomis dan bisa diandalkan,,

jadi intinya, menurut saya,, tinggal dilihat pabrikannya mengembangkan mesin berbasis OHV dengan tujuan apa..

OHV atau OHC bukan masalah, yg jadi masalah itu jumlah klepnya (2, 3, 4 atau lebih) dan masalah cam profile (ditambah faktor2 yg lain). Kalo argumennya masalah redline, OHV (pake pushrods) gw ada yg redline standarnya 7000 rpm.

@povet: knp mesin OHV ud jarang digunakan utk mobil penunpang???..... cuma travel and sebagian mobil2.........

Kalo dilihat dari segi manufacturing mungkin karena mesin OHC parts-nya lebih sedikit. Dari segi marketing mungkin karena kalo gak SOHC/DOHC dianggapnya ketinggalan jaman (Corvette, Viper, Charger/Challenger/300C, Camaro, CTS-V, full-size vans/pickups Amrik kecuali Ford, dll masih OHV). Dari segi performance mungkin karena dengan multi-valve, nafasnya lebih gampang yg efeknya efisiensi dan power naik (penting utk mesin dgn cc kecil terutama yg naturally aspirated). Redline juga naik karena yg gerak lebih sedikit.

chevy suburban vortec 5.3L v8 320 hp 60,4 hp/L

nampaknya mesinnya dibuat untuk torsi besar, dan bukan untuk mengejar horsepower yang tinggi..
yang diliat jangan cuman horsepowernya saja..
