With complaints from CR-V and Civic owners pouring out in mid-January, Honda devised a recall plan in only about a month.
Honda had said on Feb. 12 it intended to recall roughly 350,000 CR-Vs and Civics equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo engine. Both affected models have been sold by Honda’s joint venture with China’s Dongfeng Motor Group Co Ltd (0489.HK).
The Honda spokesman said company officials earlier this week went to China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine to explain its plan.
On Thursday, the agency said in a statement on its official website that Honda’s proposals were“not enough.”
“The company needs to improve the recall plans further,” it said, suggesting Honda could extend the warranty coverage period of the affected cars.
The Honda spokesman said its officials were expected to go back to the agency with a revised plan soon. He did not elaborate.
The recalls are aimed at fixing a problem caused by an unusual amount of un-combusted petrol collecting in the engine’s lubricant oil pan.
The issue in some cases caused a strong odor of gasoline inside the car and in others the car’s check-engine light came on. Honda and Dongfeng plan to resolve the issue by updating the engine’s gasoline injection control software.
Honda officials said there had been no reports of accidents.

Kasusnya kayaknya beda sama yang masuk berita kemaren.... Kalo gini kayaknya mesin 1.5 turbo honda ini emang masalah dari pertama kali lahir....

Eh ada civic ding, walaupun ada issue overheat di early unit. gak tau deh udh gak ada issue itu lg atau tidak.
Kalau saya sh dari pada was-was mending tahan dulu aja beli mbl pake mesin ini. Paling engga sampai fl lah. Walau dikata utk cold climate bla bla ttp aja artinya ada suatu kecacatan di mesin ini.
Lagipun kucing gila a.k.a madcat juga udh blg di trit cibo utk hindari any honda turbo, walau dia tdk menjelaskan lbh rinci

Kalau saya baca. Honda udah mau recall. Tapi lembaga itu maunya selain recall, honda harus memperpanjang garansi unit yg bermasalah. Contohnya bnyk supercar ko'it di kemacetan krn gak dapet cooling yang proper. Buat pengguna mesin small displacement turbo pasti ngerasain klo habis kena macet itu tarikan mobil jadi geblek... lag nya ampun ampunan... di N/A jg kerasa tp di turbo berasa lbh parah.
Nah... Most engine skrg masalahnya boosted. Klo kata kenalan saya, honda bikin tech turbo nanggung, desain IC nya blom water to air IC... Contoh yg dah pake Lexus 2.0 Turbo...
Dan Petrol turbo lebih risky daripada diesel turbo... Tapi ya diliat aja deh, since di US dan UK yang merupakan pasar terbesarnya H blom kedengeran issue apa apa. Klo user kayak ane ya g bisa apa-apa selain nikmatin mblnya, lah gmn mosok dijual... kilo aja blom tembus 1000

Diesel turbo udh jadi sesuatu yg mainstream, karena konstruksi mesin diesel sendiri emg dah bawaan orok harus solid dan lbh rigid dr gasoline engine.
Tanpa turbo aja udh Higher compression klo mesin diesel.. bis damri aja dah turbo diesel

Setidaknya pemerintahnya berani ngambil keputusan yg menyangkut keselamatan warganya. Ya mereka negara kaya sih, saya rasa pemerintahnya ga takut ga dpt pajak dr 1 merk saja.
