Here's my opinion about this new Vios, or the 3rd gen Vios (counted from the Soluna AL50R, right?):

Just like the Honda New City, its design is too MPV-ish, looks like an MPV from the front-side, combined with the 4 doors saloon function. I think the 2nd gen looks better.

The engine is still 1NZ-FE, right? the same engine with the 2nd Gen's. There's no technical development, I think.

Well, this new Vios is coming soon in Indonesia, I think in the 2nd semester this year, it will be launched in Indo, CBU imported from Thailand.

Mr. HOLY_DEMIO, can you give us some price data in Thailand?

Emang bakalan keluar di Indo mungkin awal april ini, dan pasti akan ada versi taksinya mirip limo.
Cuman kelebihannya banyak untuk versi termahal ada lampu yang bisa naik turun, bukan kiri kanan kaya camry loh, mesin sama dengan mesin vios yang lama, fog lam belakang, keyless entry sampai bagasi, lebih lebar dari model yang sekarang, tetapi lebih pendek dari city sekarang beda dikit, dan harga gak bakal beda jauh dari yang sekarang paling nambah maksimal 5 juta.
Kali ini Toyota terang-terangan bilang akan keluar versi taksinya gak kaya dahulu di tutup2in.

This is drive by wire like yaris.Body of Vios smaller than City alittle bit,City is taller (about 40 mm)and longer (90 mm).

ES a/t 639,000 (add dual airbags)
G a/t 699,000

all model have ABS+BA+EBD equipment.

Kalo awal April ini berarti lebih cepat dari bayangan saya, sekitar Juni-Juli tahun ini. Atau nanti di setelah Juli (semester 2 thn 2007).

Versi taksi kemungkinan memang masih ada, secara Vios lama udah discontinue di Thai dengan keluarnya Vios baru ini.

Hmm, City is taller and longer.. I think the City's headroom is better than this Vios. And for the rear legroom, because the Jazz's legroom is better than Yaris, I think the City's legroom also better than this new Vios.

Yup The City is more headroom but The new Vios is same rear legroom as City(Maybe Vios is more legroom littlebit and better yaris/jazz definetly)cause VIOS has 2550 mm long wheelbase,longer than city of 100 mm.I think overall of new Vios better than City current model.(But plz eye-catching on new city in the next 7-12 months will fight on hot war.

so, how about the trunk space? because City has a huge capacity in its class, I really wanna know, how about the Vios'...

VIOS baru udah masuk ke Indo, tinggal tunggul peluncurannya bentar lagi. Bulan April akan diluncurkan di sebuah tempat mewah di Jkt.

Menurut gw eksteriornya lebih cakep Vios yg dulu (generasi kedua). Lebih kalem tapi keliatan sporty (sedan banget). Kalo yang baru ini jadi mirip Yaris yg ditambahkan bagasi, kasusnya sama persis spt City yang merupakan Jazz kemudian ditambahkan bagasi.

Tapi untuk interior gw lebih suka VIOS baru ini, keliatan lebih mewah walopun speedometer masih ditengah. Tp tipe G di steernya udah ada steering switch control utk audio.

Bukan bermaksut membela TAM, tapi TAM sama sekali gak punya hak menentukan desain sedan toyota.. hak TAM adalah menentukan spesifikasi isinya untuk dijual di Indo.. pada kasus ini justru yang disalahkan kenapa TMC gak mendesain sedan baru pengganti Vios.. Tapi mereka juga gak sepenuhnya salah.. toh emang trend untuk mini sedan kaya gitu.. mereka ikut2an..

Tanpa fanatik apapun, toh IMHO untuk mini sedan yang diturunkan dari hatchback, new vios ini tetao terlihat lebih proporsional dibanding lawan2nya.. (bukan dibandingkan dengan pendahulunya..)

dan gw setuju banget dengan pendapat bung Digi.. Interior itu hampir pasti lah terjadi perbaikan kualitas di generasi mobil baru.. Tapi kalo masalah eksterior mah kembali ke selera masing2 yang beli.. Gak suka ya cari mobil laen.. gak susah tho?
