Agreed, Mt. Teckteck.
Allow me to underline the points I find significant :
Apalagi jika harganya di-set di atas Jazz facelift/Yaris, it's the death sentence for the Tiida.
Allow me to underline the points I find significant :
Tiida gagal meneruskan legenda Sunny.his emphasis on low cost made most Nissan cars too average - average quality, average market positioning, lack of innovations and free of risks. In other words, boring.
Tiida comes in 2 body style - a boring 5-door hatchback and an even more boring 4-door sedan called "Tiida Latio".
On the down side, Le Cost Killer killed not only cost but also the individual character of Nissan's biggest selling car.
Couldn't agree more. Renault Megane menjadi mobil Renault tersukses. Just look at it. Very daring and different, in a good way.It would have been better if Tiida look as stylish as Megane, but it isn't. One thing Tiida did proved: Renault design boss Patrick Le Quement is really a genius. Based on the same size, he can shaped a masterpiece while Nissan's sculptors resulted in something this boring. Car design is really a magical thing.

Benar. Ghosn lalu memerintahkan pembuatan all-new Sentra dari awal lagi.earlier this year Nissan showed the car to some selected American families secretly to test reaction. The feedback about its styling was very bad thus Carlos Ghosn ordered a restyle before it can go on sale in the USA.However, the Versa is not going to replace the old Sentra. A larger new Sentra will be introduced within 2 years.
Bukan hanya di Hong Kong. Mr. Herry, berapa sering Anda melihat Tiida di jalanan Taiwan..?Still not convinced ? listen one more story: half a year since Tiida went on sale in Hong Kong, I saw it just once on public streets. During the same period, I saw a dozen Porsche 997 Carrera S, a couple of Lamborghini Gallardo, a Porsche Carrera GT, a Ferrari F50…. you can see how unpopular it is.
Ternyata mesin HR15DE bahkan belum dilengkapi katup variabel. Nissan says the newly developed HR15DE engine has all-alloy construction and special treatment to reduce friction and improve thermal efficiency, but it has neither variable valve timing nor variable intake manifolds.
From the engine, transmission, suspensions, steering to the packaging, everywhere has signs of cost concern. To keep cost down and free of risk, it employs the most conventional mechanicals and execute in the most predictable way

Kabar terakhir, Nissan menunda redesign next-generation X-Trail. Entah kenapa.

The Tiida is an accountant-driven car, a typical Carlos Ghosn car. From the engine, transmission, suspensions, steering to the packaging, everywhere has signs of cost concern. To keep cost down and free of risk, it employs the most conventional mechanicals and execute in the most predictable way (well, that sliding rear seat is not an innovation actually, just copied from various MAVs). Nissan is paying the price for being too conservative this time. In the competitive market, innovative and fun-looking cars always have an advantage over boring cars. Sometimes Carlos
Ghosn can be wrong.
Terlihat sekali : semua pabrikan Jepang mencatat rekor penjualan dengan turunnya penjualan the Big 3 US carmakers, semua yaitu Toyota, Honda, Lexus, bahkan Mazda, Mitsubishi dan Subaru, kecuali Nissan yang mengalami drop sampai 11 percent!
Japanese automakers report U.S. sales
Toyota today reported overall best-ever monthly sales of 235,708 vehicles, an increase of 12.3 percent over May 2005. Toyota Division passenger cars posted all-time best-ever monthly sales of 144,875 units, up 19.6 percent. Scion reported all-time best-ever sales with 18,103 units sold. Lexus passenger cars posted all-time best-ever sales with 18,293 units, an increase of 38.9 percent. Meanwhile, Honda posted record May results of 141,810 Honda and Acura vehicle sales. Honda brand vehicles were up 16.6 percent, while Acura division sales were down 16.9 percent. Mitsubishi’s U.S. sales rose 3.9% in May for a total of 11,821 vehicles. The automaker says it was its strongest month in over a year. Nissan posted an 11 percent drop in sales  with Nissan brand sales down 10.5 percent, and Infiniti down 15.2 percent. Subaru reported its second best May sales month ever, with sales up 13 percent. As noted in our report on Ford, Mazda sales were up 3 percent.

OK. Nissan cars are pretty bad eh ? Toyota and Honda yang hebat.
Then I once again issue U guys a challenge. Try to sell me any Toyota or Honda offering in Indonesia. Jangan bilang percuma cause I am a Nissan nut. If U are convincing enough, ngak mungkin saya bisa keluar alasan yang bagus untuk menolak.
I really won't mind buying a Toyota or Honda, inggat saya hampir beli Voxy (luckily I did not), juga sudah beli Stream. But I can't find any that interest me at this moment.
I never said Toyota and Honda di luar negeri itu gimana. They have many good cars abroad, cuman line-up mereka di Indo - I mean which should I buy. I masih binggung.
Anyway, Tiida di serang gitu kejam, let me give another review. Just 1 bad review does not mean a car sucks :

First Drive: 2007 Nissan Versa
Review and photos by Paul Williams
Niagara Falls, Ontario - It's been a while since Nissan offered a sub-compact car in Canada. The Micra disappeared from our market in 1991, and the Sentra has been Nissan's small car forever, it seems.
But Nissan is well aware that the compact car segment represents 50% of all passenger cars sold in Canada, and the entry-level portion represents 20% of that segment. So without further ado, let's hear it for the 2007 Nissan Versa, Nissan's subcompact with a difference.
The difference is obvious as soon as you see the Versa, as this is the jumbo shrimp of the entry-level class. Although Nissan identifies its competitors as the Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit and Chevrolet Aveo, the Nissan Versa is considerably bigger in all dimensions than those cars.
For instance, the Yaris hatchback is 3,825 millimetres long; the Aveo measures 3,881 mm, and the Nissan Versa is a comparative stretch-mini at 4,295 mm. Wheelbase for the Yaris is 2,460 mm, for the Aveo it's 2,480, but the Versa has a very long-for-the-class 2,600 mm wheelbase. Fuel tank size for the competition is 45 litres, but the Versa's is 50 litres, the same as most compact cars.
Furthermore, the Versa comes with 15-inch wheels standard, not 14-inch; the engine has 1.8 litres of displacement, and makes 122 horsepower, as opposed to the 1.5 or 1.6 L engines of its competitors that make 103-110 hp. And because of the long wheelbase, the interior is roomy for both front and rear seat passengers. In fact, the front seats are so wide, that the seat-height control is mounted inboard in order to maximize space for the seat cushion.
So you get the idea: the 2007 Nissan Versa is one-upping the subcompact competition in size and power. It's not quite as big as, say, a Mazda3 or a Ford Focus, but this is not a tiny car by any means.
Transmission choices for the Versa include a four-speed automatic, an "Xtronic" continuously variable transmission (CVT), and unexpectedly, a six-speed manual. Nissan is very big on CVTs, due to their reliability and positive impact on fuel economy, and is expanding their availability to its entire sedan line-up. This particular CVT is the latest generation, with technology and programming to improve responsiveness and operation in all driving conditions.
The 2007 Versa will be available in three trim levels - 1.8 S, 1.8 SL and 1.8 SL Technology - but all receive full side impact, and side curtain airbags as standard equipment, along with active head restraints (front seats).
The base 1.8 S features intermittent windshield wipers, tilt steering column, a satellite-radio ready, four-speaker audio system with CD player, power heated outside rearview mirrors, and rear privacy cover. Anti-lock brakes can be selected for an additional cost, but front discs and rear drums are standard on all trim levels.
Nissan expects the "volume seller" to be 1.8 S with the VOP package, which adds air conditioning, power windows (which even have "auto-up" for the driver) and door locks, remote keyless entry system, door armrest pads and rear door map pockets. According to Nissan Canada, pricing for this vehicle will be under $17,000.
The 1.8 SL includes the VOP package, but adds alloy wheels, anti-lock brakes, six-way driver's seat, front folding armrest, cruise control and the available CVT gearbox.
Finally, the 1.8 SL Technology features a Bluetooth hands-free phone system, Rockford Fosgate audio system with six-CD changer and six speakers, steering wheel mounted audio controls and leather wrapped steering wheel.
On the road, the Versa 1.8 SL with CVT is quiet and comfortable. The long wheelbase translates into smooth driving, even when the road surface becomes uneven or broken. Steering from the electric power assisted system is sharp and responsive, and tracks straight without continuous fine adjustment (some electric power assists tend to wander).
Fuel economy with the CVT is 7.9 L/100 km, city, and 6.1 L/100 km, highway, using regular grade fuel. Fuel consumption with the six-speed manual is 7.9/6.3 L/100 km, city/highway, and with the four-speed automatic, 8.5/6.2 L/100 km, city/highway.
The instrument panel and dashboard are of a higher quality than you would expect in an entry-level car, and reminded me of the very fine Mazda3. The glove box (does anyone really put gloves in there?) is big and there are compartments for bottles and cups in the doors and between the seats. Visibility is good all around. Fortunately, the A-pillars are not so thick that they obscure vision.
The new CVT gearbox permits 120-km/h highway cruising at about 2,000 rpm, and at that speed the Versa is eerily quiet. No engine noise is apparent, and pretty much all you can hear are the tires and the occasional gust of wind as it hits the car. Turn on the radio, and that disappears as well. Even when passing trucks, the noise from their howling diesel engines barely intrudes. This CVT transmission is much better than early versions, which tended to whine and allow engine speed to increase unnecessarily when ascending hills. No such issues here.
The hatchback body style offers great interior flexibility, and lots of cargo room. The backs of the split folding rear seats fold flat, but still take up some room. It would be so nice if they'd tumble forward, which would open up the rear cargo area even more. Additionally, there is some untidiness caused by the fabric "skirts" attached to the privacy cover.
Other minor criticisms are the volume knob for the radio, which is too small (too short, to be precise), and the location of the 12V power point between the seats. From that location, you can't plug in your dash-mounted mobile navigation system without an extension cord.
But overall, the Nissan Versa may already be redefining a segment that's only just becoming established in our market. In gambling parlance, it sees the competition, and raises it. But there are no poker faces at Nissan Canada.
They think they have a good hand in the Versa, and value-conscious Canadians will likely agree.
So now he is doing a 2 to 1 assault on me.
OK. conan, U will hear a lot more from me. U want to raise the ante, I will pay U back, with interest.
Kalau member lain mau criticize Tiida itu biasa, tapi kalau kamu, jelas for attacking me as the prime objective. Just wait. I will also find articles which show that your favourite cars, the hybrids are a dying breed, dan masih banyak masalah. Satu unit pun belum I ketemu di jalan. And yet U keep saying hybrids very good as if they are the solution to all the world's car / fuel problems. Untung orang Indo ngak bego semua. Coba kalau mereka ramai ramai beli hybrid....

And guys, bukan saya mau belain siapa, tapi conan never gives U fair information. Dia cuman mau bikin saya jengkel.
Of course Nissan salesnya drop, why ? Cause mereka sudah lumayan lama belum keluar model baru. Mereka tapi nanti 2nd half of this year akan keluar banyak model baru. On the other hand Honda dan Toyota sudah keluar dulu model baru.
Tau sendiri kalau ATPM keluar model baru, salesnya naik. Kalau sudah lama belum keluar, pasti salesnya slowdown.

Bung Datsu,
Well, gini. Mobil mereka yang sangat bagus ada, tapi kalau ngak masuk Indo ngapain saya heboh.
Lihat, Jazz safety di copotin. Yaris lumayan bagus, tapi bagasi sempit, kepala mentok. Innova tau sendiri.
Contoh Tiida is a very comfortable car for all Indonesians.

Well, gini. Mobil mereka yang sangat bagus ada, tapi kalau ngak masuk Indo ngapain saya heboh.
Lihat, Jazz safety di copotin. Yaris lumayan bagus, tapi bagasi sempit, kepala mentok. Innova tau sendiri.
Contoh Tiida is a very comfortable car for all Indonesians.

I can say is WOW!
Apa gunanya aku berpura2 jadi dua orang? Aku tidak keberatan berperang seorang diri, aku yakin amunisiku cukup to take on even a dozen of dark lords. Anda mau buat banyak nick? Mungkin Sithlord II sampai XII? Silakan saja Pak.

Silakan saja, Sithlord. Bring it on! Stay tuned, guys. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.OK. conan, U will hear a lot more from me. U want to raise the ante, I will pay U back, with interest.
Kalau member lain mau criticize Tiida itu biasa, tapi kalau kamu, jelas for attacking me as the prime objective. Just wait.
Satu unit pun belum I ketemu di jalan.
Coba kalau mereka ramai-ramai menuruti apapun kata Anda..And yet U keep saying hybrids very good as if they are the solution to all the world's car / fuel problems. Untung orang Indo ngak bego semua.

Gini aja deh
Gimana kalau kita bikin gathering, misal di Bukit Sentul gitu, trus Mr. Darthvader bawa Tiida nya, pak Conan bawa Prius hybridnya, sambil ngobrol2 nyantai + lunch sekalian kita coba kedua mobil tsb. keliling Bukit Sentul, atau setidaknya kita jadi penumpang, pemilik mobil yg bawa.
Siapa yg setuju angkat tangan ayoooo

Bung Mike,
Saya pikir pikir, Andai kata anda infonya benar, itu Tiida di tunda baru October di jual, bisa saja gara gara a change in NMI's strategy.
Gini pikiran saya.
NMI know as well as U and I know pasar Indo gimana, apalagi sekarang lagi babak belur.
The advantages are many :
1. Toh AUV mini nanti pakai mesin 1500 cc juga. So sekaligus deh.
2. Harga akan lebih menarik lagi. Pajak 1500 cc kan paling rendah, plus CKD hemat pajak lagi.
Kill 2 birds with 1 stone !
Jika I jadi NMI, I akan pikir, accelerasi 1.5 ama 1.8 beda paling sedikit, dan harga OTR, BBM beda lumayan. Orang Indo sekarang lagi moodnya cari mobil murah, irit BBM. Cuman beda kencang 1-2 detik dari 0-100 km/jam so what ?
Ngak mungkin cuman tunggu big boss datang baru launch.
Justru kalau gara gara ini, Ghosn datang malah bisa marah marah " Lu orang tunggu saya datang baru jualan ngapain ! Gila yah ?! "
A Tiida 1.5 CKD. Makes a lot of sense for me. Tax wise, consumer appeal, price, BBM, everything is in favour. Tinggal import. But the info I got juga bukan sembarangan.
A Tiida 1.6 CBU ex-Thailand harga dekat ama 200 juta make sense. A CKD Tiida 1.5 harga dekat ama 150 juta juga make sense kalau saya bilang.
And bung Mike, kecuali gadis NMI itu yr istri atau saudara, kalau bukan, I bilang anda juga jangan pegang 100% kata dia. Both yr source and mine ngak mungkin mau 100% jujur ama kita. These things are confidential. Kita cuman bisa make calculated guesses and estimates.
A Tiida at 190+ juta may sell at only average volumes, but a Tiida 1.5 at close to 150 juta ? Watch Out !
So from all these facts, I conclude that chance sangat besar harga Tiida 1.5 CKD yang featurenya lengkap harganya akan AMAT dekat ama Yaris and Jazz. And I hope NMI realize this and change their strategy to CKD. If Thailand benar cuman ada 1.6 dan 1.8.
It maybe a blessing in disguise, dari pada Tiida 1.6 hampir 200 juta dan 1.8 lebih dari 200 juta.

Eh, ini gw mo jawab pertanyaan2 Oom Sithlord...
tapi org-nya dah gak pernah nongol...
Gini, barusan gw dapet inpo yg bener2 upside down...
dilaunching tetep seperti jadwal semula....
Ok, gitu doeloe, sampai ada inpo baru lagi....
