Untuk film, total 11 unit dibikin, plus 1 prototipe, plus 3 biji setelah film. Total 15, itu oleh builder aslinya, Cinema Vehicles, North Hollywood. Sekitar 5-6 unit hancur saat pembuatan film.

Kenapa ni Eleanor bisa segini cakepnya? Eleanor langsung booming dan jadi obyek klonengan ratusan Mustang '67 lain. 'Coz ada 2 nama besar yang berperan mendesain si Eleanor: Steve Stanford dan Chip Foose. Well, langsung kliatan kan kualitas karya kedua nama besar di dunia kaztemaiz Amrik itu?

Chip Foose : salah satu custom builder yang disegani...ahli hand drawing dan pakar modifikasi mobil amrik....

saya sendiri salut dengan mobil2 hasil karyanya....terutama masalah finishing, sampe di detail2 yang terkecil dikerjakan dengan rapi & teliti...meski mobil rombakan/bahkan bikin sendiri di bengkel tapi hasilnya bisa rapi seperti dari pabrikan...

Itu gak lepas dari sisi sebaliknya juga, om Jal. Pasarnya sangat besar, dan konsumen mau membayar mahal untuk sebuah kualitas, plus kultur hotrodding yang udah mentradisi di Amrik sejak mid '40an. Hingga sebuah kesepahaman sinergis dan relasi antara builder dan penikmatnya udah eksis puluhan taun.

Kalo di Indo mah, asal bikin dulu, asal keren luarnya dulu. Dalemannya berantakan, sering geleng2 liat mobil2 jejadian di event2 ABT gitu. Parah finishing jeroannya.

Satu lagi seorang 'tukang cat' yang ane kagumin, lupa namanya, pokoke dia paling demen ngecat pake brand House of Kolor, bener2 dah hasilnya. :frm_salut:

kalo urusan selera...saya sendiri kurang suka sama mobil2 amrik yang vintage....lebih seneng dng yang sudah dicustom, karena dari bentuk yang jadul bisa tampil beda. Tapi dibalik itu ya jelas buildernya yang mesti disalutin, bukan semata2 krn bs ngerjain mbl dengan rapi tapi ide2 modifikasi dan touching point untuk modif mobil jadul supaya tampil beda tanpa menghilangkan ciri khas yg ada.

oh ya....cat mbl custom amrik juga kinclong2..... :off_good_job:
namun saya sendiri kurang suka sama permainan corak warnanya yang kadang keliwat rame... :e-snooty:

sebenernya...ini kritik saya untuk bengkel2 modif di Indonesia, sayang sekali karena ide dan kerja keras mereka gak dituntaskan dng finishing yang rapi....tapi dari keberanian, kreatifitas dan semangat wirausaha mereka tetap harus dihargai karyanya...

lagipula mobil2 kontes di event macam ABT gitu kebanyakan dibikin dalam waktu yang mepet (bahkan ada yang SKS)....wajarlah kalo byk detail yg keliwat krn terburu2....beda dng custom builder yang memang dalam membangun mobil waktunya terencana dengan baik sehingga pengerjaannya gak tergesa2

bicara mobil2 custom di gelaran2 macam ABT itu, kadang sy sering ga sreg sama hasil akhir yg dipamerin..........banyak dr para builder mengejar tampilan seekstrim mungkin sehingga justru mengesampingkan sisi fungsionalitas sebagai kendaraan, bahasa kasar nya "cuman bikin mobil patung aja" :upss:

Kalo saya, dulu demen hotrod dan muscle gara2 mid 90an mulai beli majalah Popular Hotrodding, Petersen's Hotrod, Muscle Car Review, Mustang Monthly, Mopar Muscle, Performance Street Car gitu om Jal. Belinya di Gunung Agung Kwitang, yang back issuesnya jadi udah diskonan maklum mahasiswa.... Image Ato kalo ada duit, beli yang edisi baru di Rubino, Plaza Indo lantai basement.

Gak pernah tertarik 1x pun beli majalah yang kiblatnya Jepangan, ntah kenapa, 'coz ngeliat aliran Amrik ini bener2 cool dan bebas. Plus saya memang dari dulu demen ke Amrik sebagai entitas negaranya.

Tapi makin kemari, arah saya makin jelas, back to vintage. Sering miris dan berontak kalo liat mobil lawas dipotong2, dichop, shaved, shortened, dll. Mending bangun full custom from scratch ajalah, karena populasi mobil tua di Indo gak banyak. Ato kalo toh ngotot mo custom, silakan potong2 mobil vintage yang unitnya bejibun, Holden misalnya.... :big_peace:

ternyata kita sama2 pemburu majalah "seken gress" dari Gunung Agung Kwitang..... :big_weee:
awalnya kenal majalah itu krn dikirim dr paman yg kerja di FM, yaitu HOT ROD,Car Craft dan Chevy High Performance, dr situ mulai deh saya sering ke kwitang buat beli majalah seken gress...dan jujur saya mah gak pernah beli majalah luar yang baru..maklum cuma rakyat jelata :mrgreen:

sebenernya saya juga tertarik majalah jepang... Karena kebentur masalah bahasa jadi saya gak beli krn paling cuma bs liat foto2nya. :mrgreen:
tapi sejujurnya skrg nyesel juga sih, sebab pada era 90'an itu awal dr kejayaan mbl2 jepang dan banyak yang jadi legenda sampe sekarang, andaikan punya majalah jepang lawas tentu literatur semakin lengkap :shrug:

hmm..saya sih gak ada idealisme tertentu... krn ada mbl yang lbh bagus dlm kondisi vintage dan ada juga yang makin bagus kalo udah dicustom...vintage or custom sama aja

Namun saya memiliki perspektif berbeda,IMHO mobil vintage lbh cocok disimpen baik2 di garasi atau museum pribadi ketimbang sering dipake...krn semakin sering dipake maka semakin besar potensi terjadi kerusakan, kalo dah rusak tentu jadi ancaman untuk orisinalitas.

sedangkan mobil custom menurut saya lebih "bebas"...dipake sering2 pun gak jadi masalah besar saat terancam kerusakan, karena gak banyak sisi orisinalitas yang perlu dijaga.

Keunggulan LFA itu ekskusifitas. Di Indonesia banyak yg punya GTR karena tiap tahun dibuat banyak. Kalau LFA khan cuma 500 biji.... Yah yang masih eksis gak sebanyak itu krn beberapa tabrakan.

Makanya, walau menang atau kalah cepat melawan mobil lain, tapi mobil jarang itu tetap punya keunggulan dibanding mobil rakyat.

ABT? ABT isinya alay2 doang.. :big_weee:

LFA sama GTR ada di kasta yang berbeda... LFA supercar, GTR sports car... Supercar not necessarily faster than sportscar... Sebagai contoh, Evo FQ400 saja lebih cepat di nurburgring dibanding Lamborghini Murcielago.. Padahal top-end lambo kan murcielago..

Supercar disebut supercar karena eksotik, baik dari bentuknya, teknologinya, bahan-bahannya, feelingnya, performanya dan lain-lain..

Dalam hal ini engineering GTR nggak ada apa2nya dibanding LFA... LFA punya mesin V10 sebesar V8 dan se-ringan V6.. Bahan2? campuran carbon fibre dan elemen pesawat ulang-alik.. Bahkan interiornya di pahat dari 1 piece aluminium..
kecepatan rev-ing engine GTR nggak ada apa2nya dibanding LFA.. Tuning suara engine dan exhaust nya dilakukan oleh Yamaha, dll dsb..
