Open Air Filter VS Water Hammer

numpang nanya sama sesepuh disini
sy ingin mengganti filter mobil saya dengan model open air filter, yg ingin saya tanyakan :
1.apakah benar open air filter lebih rentan terhadap water hammer ?
2.kira2 seberapa banyak volume air yg kesedot kemesin yg bs menyebabkan water
hammer ??
3.misalnya pada saat kita mengendarai mobil pada waktu hujan kemudian open air filter kecipratan air, apakah dapat menyebabkan water hammer ??

hmm, sambil menunggu jawaban dr pakar2 SM, ane mau share penggunaan open AF di mobil ane aja nih oom.

kurang lebih sudah menggunakan open AF selama 3 taun, dengan mobilitas yg cukup tinggi. Siang-pagi-sore-malam dengan kondisi cuaca dan lalu lintas yg bervariasi pula. Dan selama ini tidak ada keluhan mengenai kondisi hujan, bahkan saat hujan super deras sekalipun. Padahal filter yg sy pakai itu bener2 "open" tanpa sambungan billion (eh bener ga nulis nya?) menuju bagian belakang bumper.

justru saat hujan yg saya rasakan, response mesin menjadi lbh baik. Tebakan saya sih, gara2 suhu udara yg lbh dingin.

mengenai kekhawatiran air akan ikut tersedot ke ruang mesin, mestinya hal ini ga terjadi yah................... karena sebenernya element filter tsb sudah di lapisi oli khusus utk menangkal debu dan air. Sewaktu membersihkan si filter ini sy lihat juga saat di siram air, tidak ada setetes pun yg tembus, bahkan hal yg sama jg terjadi saat di rendam. Pengecualian saat direndam air panas yah :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

ane juga coba jawab ah sebisa ane. sambil nunggu pakar yang lain.

untuk no 1 ane rasa tidak juga ya, mungkin yang dimaksud lebih rentan water hammer karena bentuknya yang terbuka ajdi rentan basah kena cipratan air di ruang mesin pas ujan to lainnya, beda ma yang ori yang tertutup dan hanya terbuka di ujung belalainya aja.

untuk no 2 kalo cuman cipratan ane rasa sih kgk, yang menyebabkan water hammer kan kalo masuk dalam jumlah banyak, karena air tidak bisa dikompresikan sehingga piston atau stang piston pasti kalah.

untuk no 3 kyknya termasuk di jawaban no 2.

Intake apapun berpotensi water hammer kalo terendam....cmiiw..mau open box ataupun standar, bedanya standar ada water trap, tp tetep bisa penuh:)

Berdasarkan opini pemakai AF open vs replacement..Kalo mobil sering dipake ngebut (rpm main tinggi terus) efeknya positif udara yg masuk kemesin maksimal dan padat tenaga juga nambah..Kalo buat macet2an dan jarang dipake ngebut sama sekali ga bermanfaat (buang2 duit :upss: )..Jadi kalo mau value for money ya pake replacement saja (kyk replacement JF*/K&*) :frm_tumbright:

kl untuk daily use berarti lebih recomended pake replacement ya boss ?? soalnya sy masih bingung mau pake open atau replacement, thanks

wah klo yg model full set gtu lbh bagus lagi oom, keliatannya udh ada water trap nya tuh :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

@aldy
sy kurang setuju nih klo di bilang open AF lbh cocok utk yg sering main high rpm. Klo dr yg saya rasakan, peningkatan response mesin terjadi di semua tingkatan rpm kok. ibarat nya napas mesin lbh plong gtu lha.

btw, satu2 nya kelemahan open AF yg saya rasakan adalah cepet kotor aja seh. Biasa sy bersihin setiap 2500-3000 km :e-think:

Betul.open filter cepet kotor.klo dl ane pk seminggu aekali ane beraihin.klo da agak kotor ma berat tarikan.trus suarany whoooozzzz gt wkt di geber.hahhha.trus matiin mesin da suara shuuuzzzz.tp harus pasang di posisi yg dingin,bier terasa mantep.betul g om doq????

Ane dl jg pk matik,tp g terasa ngepos.posisi yg pas t4 yg bnyk udara segerny om.jd g kesesot de hawa panas mesin.da yg pasang kyk selang gt tp meati di lubangin itu bumper,trus selangny di posisiin ke filterny.

hehehe iya tuh suaranya emang keren klo didengerin, sedotan angin nya kedengeran manteb. Klo saya kebetulan posisi filternya deket lobang angin, ada dua tuh........... yg satu ada di samping n satunya lagi hadap bawah, jadi pasokan udara luar terjaga :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Sama aja sih kotor nya menurut saya:)
Kalo ngempos atau tidak sih uda konsekuensi nya, matik2 skg kan sudah ECU, mgkn bermasalah disitu:) tp kalo sudah ada CAI nya sih ga ngempos......atau mgkn karena udara yg kehirup tuh panas, krn udara dingin lbh banyak mengandung oksigen, jd kalo malam hujan seperti oom doq ceritakan wajar mobil terasa putaran mesin nya lively:)
Mengenai peningkatan performa, kalo replacement meningkat sedikit, open pod akan meningkat dr replacement sedikit jg...itu lah yg saya rasakan:)
Oiya, 1 hal lg, bkn cuma saringan udara yg kudu dibersihin, tetapi TB kita jg harus diperhatikan:)

Ia.tb sering di beraihkan,t30 ane dl kadang2 jalan trus mati mesin sendiri krn tbny lgsg nutup,krn kotor bgt.



Klo seperti gambar se udah bgs bgt,krn da airscoop,udara seger lgsg di arahkan ke filterny,cm g semua mbl da airscoopny.contohny gd3,ge8 g da airscoop bgt,jd harus di custom di bumper depenny.

Klo itu ane g taw bro.soalny selama ane pk g pernah bermasalh.cm 1 wkt cuci mbl ada baikny di tutup Pk plastik,bs pk plastik belanjaan kt di pasar.Ane se pk yg biasa2 z merek hurricane cm 150rb klo g salah.seminggu sekali di bersihin,pk angin dr kompresor.klo g di bersihin tarikan mbl jd berat.
