Oom. You should know,... bahwa TMMIN itu dont have any thing to do with the cars that Toyota sells in Indonesia. It is always back again to TAM and TMAP dear. So you should know that if someday Hybrid cars finally arrived, its up to TAM and TMAP... not TMMIN.

Man ! Are U kidding me ? Masukin model apa sangat pengaruh ama rugi laba masa depan TAM, dan TMMIN !
Dengan saham masing masing 95% di 2 perusahaan tersebut, apakah Uncle Katsuaki Watanabe, CEO Toyota sekarang, tinggal bilang ama Pak Johny Darmawan " Mr. Darmawan, I leave it to U to decide everything about Toyota's business in Indonesia.... "
Kalau gitu, lain kali U and I joint venture buka usaha, U pegang saham 95%, dan saya cuman 5%, and U leave all the big decisions to me. OK ?
Anyway, I think I am dreaming. U DON'T want to work for Nissan one day ! U want to for for TAM ! Everytime I say something about them, U langsung allerhi, sensitive. Then whats the point of U saying U want to work for uncle Carlos one day ? Saya salah baca inggat mungkin !

No ! U are the one yang tidak mau face the facts !
Sudah jelas TMC owns 95% each of TAM and TMMIN, and I already provide the proof ! Why anda masih ngotot insist on the 51 / 49 % ? Thats old news !
And I did not say U work for TAM jadi orang jahat. Sejak kapan saya bilang U or TMC jahat ? All I am saying is what they are doing is ultimately for business / profits ! Jangan sampai kirain mereka adalah Greenpeace !
And I never underestimate hybrids ! All I am saying is like what uncle Carlos says " Hybrids make a good story, but they are not a good business yet, because the value is still less than their cost ! "
Sudah baca kasus orang America ? Hybrid itu sangat rumit ! Its not like buying a Fortuner and know that the ownership cost long term will be affordable, predictable.
Cars like the Jazz, and other mini cars are MORE logical for people who really want to use less fuel !
Want proof I am not anti Toyota ? Simple ! If U want to safe the oil, green, then wait for the Vitz. THEN I will even say, that Vitz is an EVEN better buy than the Jazz ! Its irit, cheap to buy and own, no need SBY's help, clean emissions, and best of all, ownership cost long term is known and very cheap !
Like I said. Bisa saja saya tidak peduli. U guys mau beli hybrid, silahkan ! Uang 450 juta juga lu punya, bukan I ! Nanti mobilnya reliable atau tidak juga anda yang experience, NOT me !
Once again, why should I care ! But hey ! My job in this forum is to give a full, fair account of stories / facts, and if necessary, FROM THE OTHER SIDE !

I think this is a good article. Pls read it :

Hybrids vs. the Honda Jazz
Rod Edwards for Triple Pundit:
Across the web, last week’s comments by Nissan/Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn on the hybrid business model have polarized the green community. Ghosn explained Nissan's lack of hybrid technology (Toyota licensed Altima-hybrid excepted) as a reflection of the fact that hybrids are a low-volume, high-investment product with benefits that can be met in less expensive ways.
Fuel-efficiency can be achieved, suggests Ghosn, by continuing to evolve cars and internal combustion engines (ICE) – resulting in less expensive vehicles for consumers, and sparing shareholders the expense of investing in a new family of technologies. Responses to Ghosn's position have ranged from the expected "Ghosn is a tool – hybrids are the future – Nissan is going down" to "Perhaps Ghosn has a point."
My own position – as contrarian as it may seem, coming from a green writer – sides with the latter group.
IMHO, there's a lot of efficiency left to be wrung out of ICE – whether via techno-trickery like Direct Injection, materials science (creating lighter, more efficient motors a la Honda K-series), or via simpler piggy-back systems – like hydrogen injection, thermo-electric recovery, or biomimicry. Real hybrids (not talking starter assist, here) add a tremendous amount complexity, weight, and expense to a car.
The full-on hybrid techno-assault is certainly one way to improve mileage, but I’d argue that simplicity in execution and the use of evolutionary technologies are capable of producing an equally high-mileage/low-emissions vehicle with the same utility, less expense, and easier maintenance.
Case in point: The Honda Jazz. In North America, the Jazz name is affixed to a scooter, but in the rest of the world, the Honda Jazz is an inexpensive, top-selling 4-door sub-compact that gets 51.4 mpg (combined) – and a real-world 60 mpg on the freeway.
It seats five adults, and with “magic seats†offers a tonne of cargo room and layout flexibility. The Jazz was the Car-of-the-Year in Japan several years ago, and continues to be a leading seller globally with UK prices (for example) starting at a miniscule £8,800 – that’s around $15,000 US converted directly.
You can expect it to be stickered substantially less ($12,500?) in North America without the traditional Euro-premium. Word is that Honda will start selling it in North America in 2006 (replacing the migrated-upwards Civic as Honda’s entry-level car).
So – for substantially less than the Prius’s $21,275 sticker price, you get a car that while smaller in stature, offers equivalent mileage, similar utility, all the regular safety & comfort features, and a simple and easy-to-maintain drive-train.
Honda does this with nothing more than a few evolutionary tweaks to the Jazz’s motor: a special valve configuration and two spark plugs per cylinder are designed to more efficiently combust the air/fuel mixture – achieving hybrid-equivalent mileage and power from a straight gas 1.3L motor sans-rocket science.
Add to this some well-thought out interior tricks such as relocating the gas tank to create more cargo space, and creating flippable, foldable, "magic seats" and you've got a very compelling value equation.
To bring it back to Ghosn's comments: are hybrids a valid product category, or are they an accident of timing, technology, and marketing? Hybrids bridge the gap between today’s gas engines and the future’s electric solution (whatever form it takes); Ghosn’s argument is that ICE can bridge the gap just as well with less cost to consumers and investors – and with market entrants like the Jazz, I tend to agree.

Astra Jual 46 Persen Saham di TAM Untuk Bayar Utang
22 Mei 2003
TEMPO Interaktif, Jakarta:Dari hasil penjualan Rp 1,9 trilyun, sekitar Rp 1,02 trilyun dipakai untuk membayar hutang.
Rapat Umum Pemegang Saham Luar Biasa PT Astra Internasional Tbk memutuskan untuk melepas 46 persen saham mereka di PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) kepada Toyota Motor Corporation dengan harga US$ 226 juta atau senilai Rp1,9 triliun (kurs Rp 8.500).
Presiden Direktur PT Astra Internasional Tbk.
Hingga 31 Maret, lanjut dia, perusahaaan mencatat keuntungan sebesar 800 miliar. Dalam kesempatan ini ia didampingi oleh jajaran direksi perusahaan seperti Michael Dharmawan R., D. Walla, Kour N. T., John S. A. Slack, Prijono Sugiarto, dan Gunawan G. H. Selain itu juga terlihat Presiden Komisaris TP. Rachmat.

If U still refuse to accept facts, then there is nothing I can do ! I know berita pahit itu susah di terima, seperti death of a loved one.
But as I say, life changes, life goes on ! ACCEPT IT !
Kecuali U may kerjain gue !
Don't forget to read the article Jazz vs hybrids before yr last post !

Yeah ! Mano a mano ! Like the Jazz song " Just the 2 of us.....just the 2 of us, You and I ! "
And don't forget, dari tadi kita debatenya shareholder of TAM. Toyota Astra Motor, NOT any of their subsidiaries ! And TMMIN juga sama. Toyota Jepang have the majority shares !
I suggest U save yourself the trouble of having to scan, save, and attach to yr PC. Repot !
I have all the facts from Astra's internet website, from Tempo mass media. Could they be wrong ?
There is nothing ashamed of forgetting something. Just accept reality. That makes life easier !
Justru we should all be happy. Artinya kalau nanti TAM kasih kita mobil minim safety terus, artinya biang keroknya orang Jepang di Tokyo sana, bukan orang kita sendiri di Astra sunter !
Cause I will be sad if orang kita sendiri decides to give us poor safety cars again ! Kalau orang Jepang, ya nothing we can say, cause they are NOT Indonesians after all !

Betul apa kata Anda.

Back to topic, Dark Lord, you know what your problem is, which is also the biggest difference between you and me in debating?
Aku mengumpulkan dan mempelajari fakta2 dulu, baru membuat asumsi/hipotesis.
Contoh, aku mengumpulkan data tentang Serena generasi2 sebelumnya (C23, C24), mempelajari pola life cycle produk tersebut, dan setelah mengumpulkan cukup bukti tentang keberadaan next generation Serena, baru aku membuat kesimpulan (pada tahun 2004 lalu) : Bahwa C25 akan diluncurkan pada tahun 2005.
Dan terbukti benar, kan?
Kalau Anda, sebaliknya. Anda membuat dulu asumsi sendiri, menganggapnya fakta/kenyataan, baru mencari bukti2 yg mungkin mendukung 'teori' Anda itu! Bukti2 yg menentang, ignored.
Sure, Ghosn is GOD, Nissan is the BEST company on earth dan the Dark Lord is always RIGHT.
TOYOTA? Hah, mereka akan segera tersusul oleh Nissan!
HONDA? The Power of Dreams? Hah, mereka hanya mimpi!
Mazda? Mitsubishi? Ford? BMW? Mercedes? Audi? Porsche?
Dan banyak lagi? I guess they're all WRONG and only WASTING MONEY with hybrid?
Well, guess what :
NO BRAINER Pak!!
And eventually, the diesels will be diesel hybrids!
Dan baca lagi ini :
Bagi yang ragu, I only have one question, "Do you believe in the power of dreams?"
This is from a company that brings us VTEC to the masses (almost every Honda model has it by now).
The company who brings us the first-ever, alumunium-bodied supercar (Honda NSX in 1992, even before the 1999 Ferrari 360 Modena)
The company who made the first humanoid robots that can actually walk and dance (ASIMO and ASIMO II)
It's an exciting future!

Honda Will Cut Excess Price of Civic Hybrids to Bolster Sales
Dec. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Honda Motor Co., the world's second- largest maker of gas-electric cars, said it will cut the excess cost of so-called hybrid system on the Civic by a third within 5 years, as it phases out the gasoline-powered version in some markets including Japan.
The additional cost of using a hybrid system to run Honda's Civic compact car will fall by a third to 200,000 yen ($1,702) each, as development costs are halved, President Takeo Fukui said today. The Civic Hybrid, with a four-month waiting list in Japan, is priced at between 2.2 million and 2.4 million yen.
Honda is relying on hybrid versions of the Civic and Accord, its two best-selling models, to compete with Toyota Motor Corp.'s Prius as record gasoline prices spur demand for vehicles that burn less fuel. Tokyo-based Honda may put diesel engines in light trucks in North America, where it sells about 49 percent of its vehicles, Fukui said.
``Once we are able to cut costs and lower the premium price of the hybrids, there is a possibility that in some markets like Japan, we will only sell Civic Hybrids and no more gasoline- powered Civics,'' Fukui said in an interview today. ``We plan to install diesels in bigger models and hybrids in smaller models.''

Inilah arah menuju masa depan! Toyota is going the hybrid path after it’s hybrid models especially the Toyota Prius have shown tremendous success.
Toyota has sold 425,000 hybrid cars since 1997, which include the Toyota Prius Hybrid car, Toyota Camry Hybrid sedan,Toyota Highlander Hybrid SUV and a hybrid Toyota Coaster bus. Toyota Prius sales ahve gone up 133% in the first 8 months this year.
Hybrid models are to be made more mainstream from now on and now just to serve a niche environmentalist market. Toyota’s President Katsuaki Watanabe says Toyota aims to cut production costs and halve the USD $5,000 price premium on such vehicles over the normal models.
Toyota Executive Vice President Kazuo Okamoto also said Toyota plans for a 100% hybrid future, where all cars from Toyota will be hybrids.
