mohamad asnan, saya sbgai penjual bensin eceran,dari pengalaman akhir2 ini,memang ada perubahan warna bensin jika diletakkan diluar(di botol dan terkena panas matahari baik secara langsung atau tidak langsung).bensin menjadi keruh dan ada endapan hitam dibawah botol.padahal,dulu2 nya tidak demikian.saya juga sempat mengamati di pengecer2 yg lain,dan saya jumpai hal yg sama.
gw lebih percaya dengan pendapat dan hasil amatan penjual bensin eceran ini daripada penyelidikan yg berlarut2 dan mempunyai kepentingan sendiri2.
YLKI mestinya datengin penjual bensin eceran, sukur2 mereka masih simpan stock bensin yg bermasalah.

Hari minggu gw ngisi di Shell Bintaro, ada 1 bluebird dan 1 ekspress sedang antri. gw amati, mereka ngisi separo, dan mungkin setelah itu diisi bensin premium.
Jumat malam gw pulang naik taksi Citra, sopirnya bilang sekitar 10% Hyundai Excel (mesin sama Avega) rusak FP kira-kira 10%, sementara Proton rusak 50%-an.
Kayaknya kualitas FP berbeda2 juga. Ada yg tahan, ada yg kurang

Untuk beberapa kasus, campuran sulfur dalam bensin bisa merusak dan membuat mesin jebol...
Contohnya, kasus yang terjadi di beberapa mesin BMW seri M60, di mesin itu, BMW menggunakan/melapisi liner silindernya dengan Nikasil, tujuannya mengurangi friksi antara silinder dengan liner-nya. Ternyata Nikasil ini tidak tahan dengan sulfur, dan akhirnya, rusak...
o... ini kayak penyakitnya Pajero DID yang kudu dilapis khusus, supaya tidak ancur kena Pertamax ya

Nikasil is a trademarked electrodeposited lipophilic nickel matrix silicon carbide coating for engine components, mainly piston engine cylinder liners. It was introduced by Mahle in 1967, initially developed to allow rotary engine apex seals (NSU Ro80 and C111) to work directly against the aluminum housing. This coating allowed aluminum cylinders and pistons to work directly against each other with low wear and friction.
BMW used Nikasil, an aluminium, nickel, and silicon alloy, to line the cylinders of the M60 engines. The cross-hatched Nikasil linings react with the high sulfur content found in lower-quality gasoline, such as that used in parts of the United States. This reaction causes damage to the very top of the cylinder bore, where there is the most contact of the burning mixture and the cylinder lining. The damage prevents a good seal from forming between the piston and the cylinder wall, causing a loss of compression in the combustion chamber. This "leak down" will cause M60s with worn linings to exhibit a rough idle, and if the problem continues unchecked, the engine will not start.
The only permanent fix for this problem is the replacement of the short block with the equivalent block composed of Alusil, which do not exhibit this corrosion problem. After the problem was found, BMW issued an extended six-year, 100,000-mile (160,000 km) warranty to cover these engines at no cost to the owner.

What is the “Nikasil issue�
The “Nikasil issue†is a serious problem that affects all BMW motor cars with engine blocks with “Nikasil†liners in their alloy block when high sulphur fuel has been used. This is 8-cylinder models with the M60 engine made from approximately 1993 to 1996, and 6-cylinder models with the M52 engine made between 1995 and 1998 (note M52 Nikasil engine never went to the USA). The “Nikasil issue†is extremely serious as the final result is a non-functioning engine. The material “Nikasil†is also known as “Galnikalâ€Â. "Nikasil" is a very hard dispersion layer of galvanically (electrolytically) applied Nickel applied to the soft alloy bores to prevent wear. If this hard layer is damaged, excessive bore wear occurs rapidly.
What causes the “Nikasil issue�
In short, high sulphur fuel. Contrary to popular belief, the “Nikasil issue†does not only affect the USA. It is potentially in existence in all countries, but is a particular problem in the UK and the US. It would appear that Nikasil-lined blocks were not tested with fuels that had a high sulphur content, which was unfortunate because the chemical reaction between the sulphur in the fuel and the nickel lining in the block which damaged the hard nickel lining. Once the lining is damaged, excessive bore wear of the soft underlying alloy occurs very quickly. Some Nikasil engines have failed in as little as 30,000 miles.
Fuel high in sulphur was imported into the UK and (apparently in very small amounts only) into continental Europe. The problems occurred first with cheap (supermarket) fuel in the north west of the UK, although in time the whole of the UK was affected - and it was no longer just supermarket petrol that was causing problems. Having said which a vehicle run only on good quality fuel which was low in sulphur would not have problems, but there was no way the consumer could know which fuel to buy. There do appear to be quite a few Nikasil-engined vehicles which, either through luck in the fuel used or some other mysterious reason, appear to be absolutely fine even after very large mileages.
Continental Europe (through essentially not getting high sulphur fuel) appears to be largely unaffected by the Nikasil problem: it would appear that they did not suffer from imports of high sulphur fuel. I have not heard of any problems with Nikasil cars on the Continent, nor have I found any reference to any difficulties.

Mohon ulasan untuk BMW 323i th 1996 donk... sekalian tips buat beli BMW bekas..
buat pertimbangan sebelum membelinya, sekarang masih buta ne ttg BMW ini...

kalau tips beli bmw bekas , cari yg kaki-kaki sehat, tidak bunyi-bunyi, mesin sehat (bunyi mesin bmw walaupun cc besar tapi kalau sehat sama heningnya dengan mesin mobil 1500cc), elektrik berfungsi semua dan interior masih ori...

padahal baru mau deal dgn 323i AT 97..
kalo pake premium efek nya gimana ya? apakah kepada performa mesin saja?

kl dikasih premium blok mesinya retak , soalnya ga tahan kena sulfur premium... kl mo ubah ganti bagian-bagian yg terbuat dari nikasil , itu baru aman , cuman saya ga tau biayanya berapa, tapi sebagai gambaran, saya pernah lihat ada yang jual blok mesin 2nd untuk bmw sekitar 8 juta udah komplit

apalagi panther ane, sudah terlalu lama mengalah pada si solar.... sampe2 bosch pump, injector, pompa mekanik nya aja uda perna bermasalah gara2 terlalu mengalah...
haha.. tetangga ane, mobil mitsu lancernya kena juga, dia ga tau klo gara2 premium, td ngobrol baru dia ngeh kalo bulan lalu sempat mogok dan ganti fuel pump.
kalo ane masi say yes to premium.. lagian mobil masi di garansi ini.. dan lagi kalo ipah ane worst case rusak jg fuel pump nya murah koq... cuman beberapa lembar soekarno hatta doank... ga ampe 10 lembar...
