intinya, full time 4WD (biasa disebut AWD), gak ada mekanisme locking di transfer case. sehingga kalo satu roda kehilangan traksi, mobil gak bisa maju. kalo part time 4WD (ini mungkin yang dimaksud dengan Real 4WD) atau disebut 4WD, punya locking di transfer case dan menjamin putaran gardan depan dan belakang mendapat jatah torsi yang sama. jadi walau salah satu roda slip, masih bisa maju. satu lagi yang jadi pembeda, 4WD punya low gear.
nah, mekanisme locking di transfer case ini, kalo di PS pake locker, kalo di fortuner kalo gak salah pake torsen (torque sensing). gimana kerjanya ane gak tahu...
om kopat, itu yang beda antara PS ama fortuner jenis lockernya atau jenis LSDnya atau malah kedua2nya beda (locker dan LSD)?

fortuner dan PS sama2 pake LSD di differential belakang. nah, di transfer case, PS pake locker, kalo fortie, seperti pada SUV toyota lainnya, pake torsen (torque sensing). monggo dibenerin kalo salah.

All wheel drive (AWD) is almost the same thing as full time 4WD - it is a system that powers all four wheels of a vehicle at all times as well. Full time symmetric AWD would be the best term to be used. Difference to full time 4WD is that a "4-low" setting is not available in AWD cars. Due to the lack of "low range" AWD vehicles are much less capable in off-road settings than full time 4WD vehicles, but work perfectly well on-road.
Automatic AWD system is the newest kid on the block. PR agency generated names like "Real Time 4WD", "intelligent AWD" or "active AWD" are hiding the fact that automatic AWD is essentially a sophisticated 2WD system. Automatic asymmetric AWD would be the best term for them.
jadi kayanya sih AWD nya diatur oleh ECU (pembagian torsi antara roda depan dan belakang), ga seperti 4H nya mobil2 4WD. kalo gini, tergantung kepintaran (kehebatan) ECU nya kalo udah bicara jalan off road ringan-medium.

serius om no difflock? tapi low gear ada?
karena saya sempat baca di forum tetangga, ada yang ngelucon bilang navara sering stuck (saya ga tau becanda apa beneran). cuman kalo memang ga ada difflock ya beratlah. satu roda aja slip, yang lain bakal ikutan slip. aneh bgt kalo ga ada difflock. kaget juga tadi baca pernyataan om.
Tapi ada LSD (limited slip diff)..Low gear ada shift on the fly pula.Bukannya diff lock bisa dipasang ya??..Mungkin ini yg bikin Navara ga laku selain mesin terlalu canggih buat solar busuk di indo..he2
hm... gini gini... kita sebut aja locker. locker ini dipasang pada komponen yang dipasang di antara 2 sumbu yang bergerak dan ingin digerakkan sama. biasanya dipasang di transfer case dan di differential. transfer case ini seperti differential, tapi dia yang menghubungkan depan dan belakang. dari transfer case baru menggerakkan differential baik depan dan belakang.
kayaknya navara ada locker deh di transfer case, dan yang jelas ada LSD di differential belakang. tapi kurang tahu di differential depan. harusnya sih navara teknologi driveterrainnya sama dengan triton, hilux, ranger...

tetapi di salah satu forum ada jg beberapa yg mengeluh tentang e-diff lock di navara yang response nya agak lambat/delay untuk segera mengunci saat diaktifkan

shift on the fly klo ga salah bs shift tanpa hrs berhenti. pernah nyoba nvr pindah dr 2wd ke 4wd sembari jln tapi jlnnya agak pelan.
4wd memang ada diff lock bukan...
tiap kali kluar rumah... mata ane ini skrg sering banget liat pajero sport item wara wiri didepan ane.... bahkan ga jarang di lampu merah aja ketemu 2 pajero sport, item pula... seolah2 ngeledek ane gt... kaya blg "mas, beli aku donk".... cih2...
makin lama sering banget ketemu PS....apakah krn itu makanya CRV berani kasi diskon rada lumayan..??
