A well built car CAN indeed behave like an army tank under certain, not too serious collisions ! And it feels great eh ?

Tinggal senyum dan say " Good luck ass****, siapa suru lu begok ! "

Cuman bedanya, BMW dan mobil Eropa mungkin secara umum (especially the luxury brands) memang kulitnya seperti badak. Tapi one have to pay much more, soalnya these cars contain a lot of brand goodwill. Artinya say for a BMW seri 3, U got to pay extra lebih dari ratusan juta for the goodwill / brand other than the sturdy construction.

Tapi for my c24, lets say dia lebih mahal 40+ juta banding innova V. Minus say cost of 2 airbags, EBD, BA of say about 15-20 juta, artinya I pay a LOT less to get the strong build quality and thick skin !

Thats why I insist c24 itu harganya amat murah ! Banding what U get ! Just that people don't see it, or refuse to see it !

Artinya bikin mobil sukanya plat tebal, ngak seperti mobil Jepang umumnya yang " tin can like ", kaleng sardine !

Just that saya penasaraan, if my c24 bumps into the BMW, who will win ? Seharusnya BMW lah ! Harganya saja beda jauh begitu...

A thick plate means the chance of us being crushed like a water melon seperti di photo yang saya pernah cantum jauh lebih kecil saat tabrakan serious. Now THAT is an extra safety feature compared to just ABS, EBD, BA, 2 airbags.

Now is the 242 juta c24 expensive compared to the innova G A/T yang 193 juta ? I say its damn cheap !

hmm, bung sithlord,

My main message is to the other guys in this forum.

I may be tempted to try.

Just a bit of new news. Ternyata AUV juga akan di temani a little brother ! Artinya bukan cuman crossover doang. Juga akan lahir a compact car :

http://www.indonesian-embassy.or.jp/men ... 052005.htm

Pls scroll down to see the AUV section. Yang malas cari silahkan baca langsung ini :

Quote "
Nissan to Triple Output

Nissan Motor Co is planning to more than triple annual automobile production capacity in Indonesia in 2007 to 40,000 units from 12,000 to meet growing demand, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported, without citing sources.

Nissan now makes three models at its West Java plant, including the X-Trail sport utility vehicle, and intends to add a minivan and a compact car in 2007, the report said. It plans to spend 2-3 billion yen on painting facilities and other equipment.

The company is designing a global car for developing markets in Asia, the Middle East, and Central and South America that it plans to mass-produce in Indonesia and other plants in Asia. In partnership with an Indonesian firm, it is also expanding its local dealership network to 60 outlets from 38 currently, the daily said.

Meanwhile PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional said it is seeking shareholder approval to buy back 4,650 shares in PT Nissan Motor Indonesia (NMI) for $8.26 million. Indomobil will hold a shareholders' meeting on June 17 to approve the move.

Indomobil said the stake buy-back will increase its ownership in NMI to 11.34% from 3.04%. At the same time, controlling shareholder Nissan Motor Corp.'s ownership interest will be diluted to 75% from 83.3%. PT IMG Sejahtera Langgeng, which is owned by the Salim Group, has a 13.66% stake in NMI.

End of quote "

So I guess in the year 2007, not only will the innova be targetted, but the AUV's little brother could be targetting the Jazz / Swift / Vitz. As for whether the little brother is the Note or an entirely new model, yr guess is as good as mine...

FYI.

Oh yah. Di edisi Autobild terakhir, di sebutkan, AUV and his little brother akan lahir PERTENGAHAN tahun 2007.

If this is true, then my guess is right on the dot ! So they will appear in Gaikindo 2007 ! June - July 2007 !

18 months.

Seperti Soluna dulu. Kalau Vios maybe not so bad, tapi saya yakin jika Vios ngak di jadikan limo, pasti lebih sip image dia.

NISSAN to develop global strategic car -report

By Osamu Tsukimori
Last Updated: 12/13/2004 1:27:00 AM

TOKYO (CBS.MW) - Nissan Motor Co. has started developing a global strategic vehicle to be built around the world, targeted mainly at emerging markets, according to a published report.

The Japanese auto maker aims to sell 1.6 million of the 1.5-liter class subcompacts in the fiscal year beginning in April 2007, mainly in emerging markets such as China and Russia. The vehicle will be built at nine plants around the world and sold in 27 countries and regions, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported.

Nissan will keep production costs low by using the same chassis as the March, Cube and Tiida subcompacts it sells in Japan, the report added.

The report said automaker believes it will be able to cut costs by sharing the chassis with French automaker French automaker Renault SA (013190013190), which owns a 44 percent stake in Nissan.

Nissan (72017201)(NSANY) declined to comment on the report.

Japan's second-largest automaker has said it intends to achieve global sales of 4.2 million vehicles in fiscal 2007, up 820,000 from its sales projected for the current business year ending March 2005.

The prices of the models will vary depending on region, but are expected to be set at about 1 million yen ($9,537) to 1.5 million yen, the report said.

Shares of Nissan ended up 0.3 percent in Tokyo. The Nikkei Average rose 0.3 percent.

Heres another, more recent news :

AFX News Limited
Nissan to invest 100 bln yen on vehicles for China, India - report
02.08.2006, 06:14 PM

TOKYO (AFX) -Nissan Motor Co intends to develop a global strategic vehicle targeted at China, India and other emerging markets, with more than 100 bln yen to be invested in capacity of some 600,000 units a year in these markets by 2009, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported, without citing sources.

The business daily said Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Co, its China-based affiliate, will add a production line capable of turning out 100,000 vehicles a year.

In India and Brazil, Nissan is considering using excess capacity at plants operated by its largest shareholder, Renault SA of France. The strategic vehicle will also be produced in Eastern Europe, according to the report.

With an engine displacement of around 1 liter, the low-priced strategic car will be among the smallest developed by Nissan. It will likely sell for some 10,000 usd. The firm has already started developing a chassis, the Nihon Keizai said.

The planned output of 600,000 units a year is the equivalent of nearly 20 pct of Nissan's global sales, the report said.

Saya ketemu berita lebih detail lagi. Pls note the section I highlight in BOLD :

http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Japan/FL14Dh02.html

Nissan's 'global strategic vehicle'

TOKYO - Nissan Motor Co has begun development of a global strategic vehicle that will be built at nine plants around the world and sold in 27 countries and regions, The Nihon Keizai Shimbun learned Friday.

The automaker will keep production costs for the 1.5-liter-class subcompacts low by using a common chassis. It aims to sell 1.6 million units, mainly in emerging markets such as China and Russia, in fiscal 2007 .

Nissan president Carlos Ghosn announced in the automaker's business plan for the three-year period starting next year that the company intends to increase global sales to 4.2 million vehicles in fiscal 2007. Because this represents an increase of 820,000 from its sales projection for the current fiscal year, the development of a global strategic vehicle is considered the key to achieving that goal.

The vehicle will use the same chassis as the March, Cube and Tiida subcompacts that Nissan sells in Japan. The company believes that it will be able to cut costs most significantly by using this chassis, which it shares with its partner, French automaker Renault SA.

The automaker plans to develop models such as small sedans and minivans according to the needs of local markets, and to expand sales of the vehicles by exporting to neighboring regions as well.

First, Nissan plans to begin producing the vehicle around 2006 at a Chinese plant in Guangdong Province, the production site of its joint venture with Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor Corp, for export as well as for use in China.

Nissan plans to start producing the vehicles in Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa and Mexico in fiscal 2006, and in Indonesia the following fiscal year. It also plans to start building the Tiida, which it currently assembles at its Kanagawa Prefecture plant, at the Guangdong plant in spring 2005.

If this report is true, artinya tahun ini, 2006, kita sudah bisa tau AUV seperti apa, lihat saja versi yang di China. Nanti, tahun 2007 nyusul di Indonesia, as widely reported.

Bung Herry, it means Taiwan will get the AUV first. Then perhaps anda bisa bantu kita with more info on this model, before we get it here.

By the way, meskipun banyak orang bilang Tiida itu culun, jelek, tapi Tiida di China, ama Teana, lagi meledak di situ, dan anehnya, saya lihat brochurenya di Platinum Motor, kok di brochure situ, lebih cantik dari di photo lain di internet. Mungkin tergantung angle and photo. Seperti manusia lah !

I really believe the Tiida should look better in real life, cause kalau jelek, masa begitu banyak orang di Japan, China, Middle East semua ramai ramai beli ini mobil. Well, I did have a look in real life last year, and say she looks better in 3-D. But of course nobody believed me here.

Its OK though.

Another news. Mirip ama yang di atas, jadi saya cuman quote bagian new news saja in bold :

http://www.iii.co.uk/news/?type=afxnews ... on=article

......... At first, Nissan plans to begin producing the vehicle around 2006 at a Chinese plant in Guangdong Province, the production site of its joint venture with Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor Corp, for export as well as for use in China, it said.

Models to be manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia will also be exported to countries such as Australia. Nissan will build models for the US market in Mexico to expand sales of subcompacts in the US.

The prices of the models will vary depending on region, but are expected to be set at about 1-1.5 mln yen, the report added.

In my opinion, ini proyek AUV BARU pantas di sebut IMV (International multi purpose vehicle).

AUV selain ke SEA, juga ke pasar besar dan maju seperti China, Australia, Taiwan, even all the way to the USA !

And since its reported to have 9 plants, and the quoted ones so far are China, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa, Indonesia and Mexico (7), masih tinggal 2 pabric yang belum ketahuan. And I bet that one of it is JAPAN herself !

And like the USA version of the Tiida, the Versa yang di bikin di Mexico, the AUVs will also be made in Mexico for sale in USA.

What a global project ! Could a Nissan desperately designed model made only in Purwakarta, using the Terrano's old engine, like often said here, even have a chance in so many markets around the world ?

Nissan spent 100 billion yen (that is abt 1 BILLION USDollars, not rupiah), like I said, masa bakar uang 1 milliar dollar cuman untuk lawan kijang di Indonesia, pakai mesin kuno ?

Like I said, Nissan is like the Sharks in the film DEEP BLUE SEA. They are not after just 80,000 kijangs in Indonesia. They are after MILLIONS of sales volumes around the world !

I guess I will be right this time. Who is it that said AUVs NOT Going to China ? Who is it that say Nissan ngak mungkin bisa seperti Toyota ?

Should now be called GUV, for Global Utility Vehicle, not AUV !

I can't wait !

Oh, the other 2 factories are Russia and India ! Lupa saya !

So whats the use of a JDM model kalau orang rendahkan dia ?

Anyway, model model mobil jika Nissan berani dan rencana di jual ke pasar di China, USA, Australia, Taiwan, all rich and demanding markets, I damn well believe the Innovas and Jazz / Yaris / Avanzas are in for a big fight !

Kita lihat saja berapa bulan lagi !

Its an honour for Indonesia !
