Next-gen Ertiga (Codename: YHA) spotted testing; Maruti MPV grows in size.
Maruti is planning to bring in the new Ertiga MPV to our market sometime in August next year. The current model has been on sale since 2012 and had received a mid-cycle update back in 2015.
The second-generation Ertiga (codename: YHA) has been spotted road-testing on the outskirts of Delhi. Though, Maruti has cleverly disguised the design of its upcoming MPV, there are a few details that reveal a lot.
A first look tells us that this new MPV is longer and slightly wider than the outgoing model. The rear overhang is much bigger to give more space for the third row of seats; the additional space is also likely to allow for more cargo room and this is why the windscreen is now raked. The car seems to have larger alloy wheels (mostly 16-inch rims) and a prominent beltline running across the side from end-to-end. Up front, the stance is more upright with a high-set nose and front bumper.
The prime reason for Maruti to increase the MPV’s dimensions would be to make it even more practical and competitive in terms of interior room and fill the void left by the repositioning of the Innova Crysta, which has left a gap in the affordable MPV market in India.
Maruti is likely to carry over the same 1.4-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel in the next-gen car. The company is currently developing an in-house 1.5-litre diesel which could come in at a later stage.
The next-gen Ertiga from Maruti will take on the likes of the upcoming Mahindra U321 MPV which is also slated to be unveiled soon.

Word from Indonesia is that there’s a new Suzuki Ertiga in the works, and the fresh MPV is scheduled for introduction in 2018. This is according to local website Otomania, which spoke to PT Suzuki Indomobil’s marketing director Donny Saputra.
Saputra told the publication that the new Ertiga is currently undergoing development, and the intention is to launch it in the first half of next year.
This piece of news comes as Indonesia’s core Low MPV is heating up thanks to the new Mitsubishi Xpander, which made its debut last month, and to a lesser extent, the cheap and big Wuling Confero. Both Mitsubishi and SAIC-GM-Wuling are newcomers to a class that has seen the Ertiga and Honda Mobilio take on the incumbent Toyota Avanza and its Daihatsu Xenia twin.
The Suzuki Ertiga was facelifted in 2015, but is largely unchanged from the seven-seater that first surfaced in India in 2012. The budget MPV sits on the Swift platform, and a new-generation Swift was launched in December 2016. The renderings above are of the current Ertiga with the features of the new Swift.
The current Ertiga is also the base for the rebadged Proton bearing the same name, but now that Proton has its own foreign strategic partner in Geely, it’s unlikely that the Malaysian brand will continue to source the MPV from Suzuki beyond the current deal.

Yup in my opinion mesin baru Gasoline 1.5L adalah pengganti M15, secara ini M15 sudah dari jaman jebot. Di Indo DM pertama kali sudah dipakai oleh Suzuki Aerio tahun 2002. Kode mesin mestinya berubah dan yang pasti power maksimun diatas 100 HP baik mesin gasoline maupun diesel. Ini pertanda SMC Japan sudah lebih fokus pada pasar ASEAN (Indo dan Thai DM) secara dominasinya di India DM sudah sangat kokoh dan kuat seperti ToyoDai di Indo DM. Sehingga tidak ada yang perlu dikhawarirkan walaupun AN Ertiga meluncur belakangan di sana.

Yup ini adalah model All New dengan platform baru HEARTECH yang juga diadopsi oleh Ignis dan AN Swift 2018, sama sekali bukan versi FL. Life cycle Old Ertiga memang sudah 6 tahun dan ini justru lebih cepat 1 tahun dari prediksi (tahun 2019) akan baru munculnya Next Generation AN Ertiga.
