Ya setauku RWD lbh menguntungkan untuk mbl beban, selain itu krn RWD memakai gardan akibatnya ada tonjolan rumah gardan & gear pinion. Krn ada rumah gardan tentunya mbl RWD biasanya memiliki GC tinggi. Nah krn mercy ini sedan, design gardannya kyk gmn ya koq GC bisa tetep rendah tanpa terantuk batu? :e-think:

GC tetap normal (dilihat dari kolong semuanya rata dan rapih), hanya saja konsekuensi logisnya pada interior ada gundukan di tengah yg cukup tinggi untuk ruang as kopelnya

yup.....layout penggerak ga ada hubungan nya sama GC, dan sampai saat ini masih banyak sedan berpenggerak rwd..............walau sekarang umum nya hanya digunakan pada sedan2 kelas atas.
mungkin bener kaya yg sering dibilang oom FM, rwd=fun to drive...............ane sih ga ngerti fun nya dimana, wong di APV sih ga ada fun-fun nya :big_weee:

Kalau untuk ngebut, efek masing2 yg didapat:
RWD --> Oversteer.
FWD --> Understeer.
Enak mana ?
Kalau disuruh milih, sedan pilih FWD, MPV mending RWD.. :roll:

mercy bikin c class pake rwd juga supaya tu mobil bisa dijejelin mesin2 gede tanpa merubah layout/platform mobil (fleksibel dengan tujuan si manufacturer di mobil tsb).
kalo mao dijadiin mobil buat ibu2 ke pasar, ya cangkokkin aja mesin 4 cyl. Kalo mao dijual sebagai muscle car, cangkokkin mesin 6.2 V8.
bodi sama, layout sama, cuma mungkin yg mesin gede tinggal dikasi embel2 rem gedean, transmisi yg lebih heavy duty, dsb....tapi perubahannya minimal.

Kalo camry ya engga bisa terlalu gede karena kalo power kegedean di mobil FWD, maka nyetirnya jadi gak enak dan juga di bbrp part tertentu jadi cepet aus.

kalo buat pabrikan kaya toyota yg jenis mobilnya segudang sih gak masalah. mesin cupu kasi ke camry, corolla, kalo mao maen muscle car tinggal panggil si lexus GS/Lexus IS.....semuanya udah ada peruntukkan masing2 di kubu toyota.

Nah kalo mercedes ya mobilnya cuma itu2 aja jadi mendingan dipakein rwd semua supaya ngirit cost buat modifnya :mrgreen:

The biggest benefit to rear wheel drive is that it spreads the loads of the car across all four tires of a car. In a rear wheel drive car the rear wheels do the pushing while the front wheels are reserved for the steering duties. In front wheel drive cars the front tires must perform both functions. waktu di timteng camry wajah sipit gini (model lampu usdm) yg beredar disana dan jd mbl kantor buat antar jemput bandara, IMO suara tyre noisenya msh cukup berasa didalem kabin (apalg kl duduk dibelakang)....entah yg silver bird ini gimana ya... :e-think:

Masak sih om layout penggerak gak ada hubungannya dgn GC? Coba diliat dikolong mbl RWD, pst ada rumah gardan & gear pinion. Untuk mbl MPV rumah gardan ato istilahnya case diff pst nongol besar, yg otomatis GC hrs tinggi. Kalo GC rendah tentu case diff ini akan sering membentur tanah. Kalo sedan mcm mercy pake RWD, maka kemungkinannya mengorbankan interior kabin (ada tonjolan) atau menggunakan gardan yg kecil.
Kalo mmg layout sistem penggerak gak ada hub nya dgn GC, coba bisa gak buat MPV beban mcm kijang panther seceper sedan n dipake sehari2? :D

maaf sotoy ya dak...
GC itu merupakan salah satu hasil dr rancangan chassis kendaraan dan power train (sistem penggerak) itu bisa disesuaikan kok dng rancangan sasis itu, buktinya :

RWD : dr truk, SUV, MPV sampe sedan ada yg RWD
FWD : dr sedan, mpv, crossover sampe CUV/SUV ada yg FWD

dr situ bisa kita liat berbagai macam jenis kendaraan dng GC variatif namun sistem penggerak ternyata bisa sama.

Memang benar konsekuensi sedan RWD adalah adanya benjolan2 didalem kabin yg menjadi ruang dr sistem girbok, kopel dan gardannya, dan ini memang menyita space kabin.

rancangan umum untuk sedan RWD/GC rendah adalah suspensi belakang independen, dimana kopel & gardan (diff housing) tetap pada posisi statis dan menggunakan shaft model CV joint seperti FWD sehingga disaat suspensi "bermain", hanya arm2 suspensi dan CV jointnya saja yg bergerak. Dengan kondisi begini maka benjolan2 didalem kabin bs dibikin lbh efisien krn kopel dan gardan relatif tetap statis pada posisinya. Lain halnya jika model suspensi belakangnya live axle dng gardan banjo type...ini memang butuh ruang yg luas krn gardan dan kopel selalu naik turun bersama dng gerakan suspensi.

skrg bisakah kijang atau panther dibikin seceper sedan...? jawabannya bisa kalo body & sasis/ladder framenya dirombak, tapi kalo tetap mengandalkan bentuk sasis aslinya susah. alasannya : titik2 pivot dr arm2 suspensi depan dan "lengkungan" ladder frame yg ada diatas gardan belakang itu dr pabrikannya memang sudah dirancang untuk GC std kijang/panther tsb.

contoh lain silahkan cek sasis truk colt diesel ente dak, sasis/ladder framenya bener2 lurus dr depan sampe belakang....makanya seberat2nya muatan truk gak pernah sampe bisa ceper mampus meski pernya udah mentok stopper, lain hal kalo bagian sasis yg ada diatas diatas beam axle depan dan gardan belakangnya itu dibikin lengkungan, itu akan bisa lebih ceper.
