McRae’s confidence is low

Colin McRae has admitted that his confidence has taken a knock following first day retirements on the last two World Rally Championship rounds.
An accident in New Zealand and an engine fire in Argentina stopped the Scot before he’d really got going on either event and he says that’s not very good news.
Noting that his Citroen team-mates Carlos Sainz and Sebastien Loeb have had considerably more mileage in the Xsara WRC than he has of late, he told Autosport: “That’s what I need. My confidence in the car is a little low right now, but that’s what you get when you’re not going the distance on these events.â€Â
At this stage in the championship, the Scot is not too worried though. “It’s not the end of the world,†he said.
His mind is now firmly focused on the next event in Greece. “I like the Acropolis Rally and the car should work well,†he said. “Carlos’s win in Turkey showed that. He seemed to find the technique to drive on those sort of stages very quickly. That’s what I will be looking for.â€Â
