" Dear Toyota:
Why did you buy back Tim Scott’s 2007 Lexus RX? We mean, really? You gave him a bunch of different reasons, but he doesn’t believe you. (We’re finding it a little hard to swallow, too.)
Awaiting your reply,
SRS
Here’s Tim Scott’s story. In early December, as NHTSA and NASA were putting the finishing touches on their reports saying that there is nothing wrong with Toyota’s electronics or software, Scott experienced an unintended acceleration event in his 2007 Lexus RX350, on his way home from the gym. Here’s the narrative that Scott, 46, the chief financial officer for the International Union of Police Associations, wrote:
“At approx. 8:05 am on Thursday, December 2nd I was stopped behind a school bus that was picking up children at the intersection of Sarasota Square Blvd and Crockers Lake Blvd in Sarasota, FL. After the bus cleared the intersection (1-2 min wait) I gave the car enough gas to make the right hand turn onto Crockers Lake Blvd. which is only approx. 150-200 ft in length. I estimate the speed was between 10-15 mph when I began braking to make the left hand turn into the Citation Club Apartments when I noticed the vehicle was not slowing.
I pressed the brake pedal harder and the car continued to pull against the brakes. As I approached the end of Crockers Lake Blvd I had both feet on the brakes and the car was slowing, however the engine was “screaming†and the tachometer was approaching to “red-lineâ€Â. I managed to make the left hand turn and as the car slowed I shifted it into park to stop it. The engine was screaming so I turned the ignition to the off position.
I attempted to restart the vehicle and it immediately red-lined again; I immediately turned the car off. At this time two employees of Citation Club approached me on the passenger side in a service golf cart and asked what was wrong. I indicated I didn’t know but they should “hear this†at which time I started the car again and it again red-lined. I immediately turned the ignition off.
One of the Citation Club employees told me they would push me out of the entrance area to prevent my vehicle from being struck should someone attempt to enter the complex. Once safely parked, I exited the vehicle and immediately checked to be sure the floor mats were still secured by the anchors; they were. I looked for any type of obstruction near the accelerator and found none.â€Â
The dealership, Wilde Lexus, however did find a problem – they found three different problems. Or, rather, one problem that changed three times. First, they told him that his vehicle was equipped with the wrong carpet mats. Then they told him that the floor mats were the right size, but that they were “bunched up†around the accelerator. Then they told him that the driver’s side floor mat appeared to dislodge a section of molding that obstructed the accelerator. So – wrong-size floor mats, bunched up floor mats, then dislodged molding. Are you with us?
About a week later, the dealership informed him that even though they had isolated the problem to a carpeted floor mat, Lexus was sending a team of engineers to examine the vehicle. When the engineers arrived, they called Scott to ask if the accelerator was 25-percent or 50-percent depressed. The accelerator was zero-percent depressed – Scott was braking at the time the UA occurred.
Back to the narrative: “Late in the afternoon of December 20th I received a call from Lexus (Corporate) stating that the engineers had determined they ‘didn’t want to take any more chances with the vehicle on the road and that they wanted to purchase my vehicle back if I was interested.’ â€Â
Scott was interested – and stunned.
“I never anticipated hearing that out of the blue,†Scott told SRS. “It was supposedly a floor mat issue. I remember telling the service manager, ‘I find it hard to believe Toyota buys back cars because of a floor mat problem.’ â€Â
And today, the mystery deepened. Toyota announced more floor mat recalls and under-the-floor-mat and trim interference recalls!
First, Toyota added three more models to its earlier all-weather floor mat recalls (also see Toyota All-Weather Floor Mat Entrapment) to address the potential for unsecured or incompatible floor mat entrapment of the accelerator pedal: the 2003 through 2009 4Runner; 2008 through 2011 Lexus LX 570; and the 2010 RAV4.
Second, it announced a new safety recall of approximately 20,000 2006 and early 2007 Model Year GS 300 and GS 350 All-Wheel Drive vehicles to modify the shape of the plastic pad embedded in the driver’s side floor carpet, which apparently can be moved during a service operation, and interfere with the gas pedal.
Third, it announced a recall of 372,000 2004 through 2006 and early 2007 RX 330, RX 350, and RX 400h vehicles, and 397,000 2004 through 2006 Highlander and Highlander HV vehicles, to replace the driver’s side floor carpet cover and its two retention clips, because “if the forward retention Ilip used to secure the floor carpet cover, which is located in front of the center console, is not installed properly, the cover may lean toward the accelerator pedal and interfere with the accelerator pedal arm.â€Â
And the freaky thing is – Toyota had already recalled the 2004-2005 and early 2006 Highlanders and 2004 – 2005 Lexus RX 330 and 2006 RX400h center console to replace the forward retention clip used to secure the floor carpet cover in front of the center console. In 2006 (06V253)! The campaign warned: “The two Retaining Clips for the driver’s side forward Center Console (Floor Carpet Cover) can become loose. If both clips separate from the Floor Carpet Cover, the cover may lean toward the accelerator pedal, causing interference with the accelerator pedal rod. In the worst case, this condition may interfere with the accelerator pedal returning to the idle position and thus may increase the possibility of a crash.â€Â
So is this a re-notification? The forward retention clip Toyota replaced five years ago is already breaking and they are worried about the rear clip, too? So many questions.
Now, Scott is no little old lady. He’s a strapping guy of 250 pounds who, as an RX owner, had been following all the Toyota news. The first thing he checked when he stopped his vehicle was the state of his carpet mats. They were secured, in place and nowhere near his accelerator.
“I don’t scare easy, but that scared the sâ€â€t out of me. If it had happened three minutes earlier, I would have plowed into the back of a school bus. I had all my weight on those brakes. The engine was screaming. And when I got the car to stop, I almost jumped out, because I thought it was going to explode,†he says “It’s a travesty what they are trying to do. The fact that there’s another massive round of recalls just underlines that there’s a problem. I don’t like that large corporations can get way with putting people’s lives in jeopardy.â€Â
Obviously, Mr. Scott did not get the memo from Ray and his band of rocket scientists: all mechanical causes of unintended acceleration have already been identified and remedied. There are no electronic or software problems with Toyotas.
P.S. Toyota, we don’t know if truth is stranger than fiction, but fiction sure is more work to maintain.

Toyota aware of accelerator pedals sticking since last year
TOYOTA FIRST learnt of the problem with accelerator pedals sticking in vehicles in Ireland and England in spring last year.
According to a letter sent to the car firm by the chairman of the US energy and commerce committee on Tuesday, Toyota officials told the committee on January 27th that the company first learned of this problem through reports of accelerator pedals sticking in vehicles in Ireland and England more than seven months ago.

Sticky accelerator forces Toyota recall
Posted Fri Jan 29, 2010 1:03am AEDT
Japanese car-maker Toyota is to recall 75,000 cars in China over a possible problem with faulty accelerator pedals.
The company had earlier announced it would be recalling cars in Europe too.
Toyota says the number of vehicles and the models that will be recalled in Europe is still being investigated.
It said in some rare cases, the accelerator mechanism could become worn and stick while pressed down.
The same problem, which may cause a car to speed out of control, has led to a recall of 2.3 million vehicles in North America.
Sales have been suspended of eight Toyota models there, including the best-selling Camry.
Production will be stopped for at least a week in the company's factories in the United States and Canada.

Toyota sticky accelerator recall crosses to Europe
January 29, 2010 at 10:05 am By Danny Tan Filed Under Cars, International News, Toyota
The recall in North America which has seen Toyota USA suspend sales of eight models and call back up to 2.3 million vehicles has spread to Europe, due to the same “sticky accelerator pedal†issue. Details of corrective action and implementation will be communicated directly to customers with vehicles potentially affected. The models and exact number of potentially affected vehicles is under investigation.
The Japanese carmaker said that there’s a possibility that certain accelerator pedal mechanisms may, in rare instances, mechanically stick in a partially depressed position or return slowly to the idle position. Progressive wear, combined with certain operating and environmental conditions, can increase friction in the mechanism leading to the problem. In case of occurrence, the driver may notice that the accelerator pedal is progressively harder to depress or is slower to return. A rough or chattered feeling may also be experienced when depressing/releasing the accelerator pedal.
A running change in production using different parts has already been implemented model-by-model in the European production. Therefore, there is no need or intention to stop production in Europe, says Toyota.
UPDATE: Toyota has announced that the Europe recall will involve eight models and up to 1.8 million vehicles. No other models or Lexus models are affected:
- AYGO (Feb 2005 – Aug 2009)
- iQ (Nov 2008 – Nov 2009)
- Yaris (Nov 2005 – Sep 2009)
- Auris (Oct 2006 – 5 Jan 2010)
- Corolla (Oct 2006 – Dec 2009)
- Verso (Feb 2009 – 5 Jan 2010)
- Avensis (Nov 2008 – Dec 2009)
- RAV4 (Nov 2005 – Nov 2009

Re: UPDATE : KASUS KASUS BARU toyota

Bro Toyotaman, bosen postingan topik kejelekan Toyota melulu.
Berapa Triliun pajak yg dibayarkan TAM setiap tahunnya ? Berapa puluh ribu karyawan yg bekerja di TAM ? Berapa banyak pemasok lokal yg mendapat order dari TAM ? Berapa ratus ribu puluhan keluarga Indonesia yg -menikmati produk toyota spt Kijang dan Avanza ?
Hati elo terlalu diliputi kebencian sama Toyota. Kasian bener idup elo. Bahkan seorang Malaikat-pun bisa menjadi Setan jika hatinya penuh dgn kebencian dan dendam kesumat. Bertobatlah sebelum terlambat...

Peace

Loe emang tipikal NO ACTION, TALK Only!!.
The One That You Ought to Avoid, Man!
Ngga lama kok hidup orang kayak Toyotaman!

IMHO:
Sorry yah, nggak bermaksud menguliahi.

Re: UPDATE : KASUS KASUS BARU toyota

Bro Toyotaman, bosen postingan topik kejelekan Toyota melulu.
Berapa Triliun pajak yg dibayarkan TAM setiap tahunnya ? Berapa puluh ribu karyawan yg bekerja di TAM ? Berapa banyak pemasok lokal yg mendapat order dari TAM ? Berapa ratus ribu puluhan keluarga Indonesia yg -menikmati produk toyota spt Kijang dan Avanza ?
Hati elo terlalu diliputi kebencian sama Toyota. Kasian bener idup elo. Bahkan seorang Malaikat-pun bisa menjadi Setan jika hatinya penuh dgn kebencian dan dendam kesumat. Bertobatlah sebelum terlambat...![]()

Texas Supreme Court rules against Toyota in rollover case
The carmaker is ordered to face contempt charges in a suit filed by a paralyzed woman who received a $1.5-million settlement. She now says she settled only because the firm withheld documents.
By Ken Bensinger, Los Angeles Times

Toyota Motor Corp. must face charges that it acted in contempt of court in a 2007 lawsuit involving a paralyzed woman, the Texas Supreme Court has ruled.
Pennie Green, permanently injured five years ago when her Camry rolled over, originally settled the personal injury suit for $1.5 million. But last fall she filed a motion in state court alleging that the automaker had deliberately withheld documents related to vehicle safety in the course of that case, leading her to settle rather than seek more money or go to trial.
In late February, Toyota asked the state's highest judicial body to stay that case and dismiss the contempt motion, arguing that the courts did not have jurisdiction in the matter. On Friday, however, the court lifted the stay, allowing the proceedings to continue.
The ruling could have serious implications for Toyota. If Greene's allegations are upheld the Japanese automaker could face not only a civil sanction, but also the prospect that dozens  if not hundreds  of other long-closed lawsuits against the automaker could be reconsidered on similar grounds.
Green's attorney, Jeff Embry, said that if Toyota was hit with a contempt ruling his client would consider asking the court to reopen her personal injury case. "Ms. Green is going to want to consider her options," Embry said.
Toyota is facing hundreds of lawsuits stemming from its rash of sudden-acceleration-related recalls over the last year. The company in April agreed to pay a record $16.4-million fine to regulators for delaying a recall for gas pedals that can stick.
"Toyota is confident that we have acted appropriately with respect to product-liability litigation and our discovery practices, including in the Green case," the company said in a statement. "We are considering our options related to this ruling and intend to vigorously defend ourselves against any claims of impropriety in this matter."
Green's original suit against Toyota, alleging that the 1997 Camry had defects in the design of its roof and seat belts, was settled out of court and subsequently dismissed in April 2007.
In September she filed the contempt motion, based on allegations made by Dimitrios Biller, a former Toyota lawyer who defended the company in her case and has since left the company.
According to Biller's suit against Toyota, filed in federal court in California, Toyota "conspired and continues to conspire, to unlawfully withhold evidence from plaintiffs" in rollover cases. Biller specifically mentioned several cases he handled for Toyota, among them the Green case.
In a 2006 internal e-mail subpoenaed by Congress this year, Biller wrote that he was forced to settle with Green to prevent her from gaining access to certain company documents, known as "Books of Knowledge."
"Frankly," Biller wrote in the e-mail, "plaintiff's discovery efforts … were getting too close to requiring [Toyota] to produce the 'Books of Knowledge.' "
Biller had been subpoenaed to testify in the Green case in February, but just before his appearance, Toyota asked the state Supreme Court for the stay. The automaker's attorney in the case, former Texas Solicitor Gen. R. Ted Cruz, argued that the state court lost jurisdiction 30 days after the case was originally dismissed.
With the stay lifted, Biller will probably be able to testify in the matter, which is before Johnson County District Judge John Neill in Cleburne, outside Fort Worth. Embry said he would attempt to get Biller back in court as soon as possible and that he expected a formal hearing on the contempt motion in as little as four weeks.
"We are disappointed that Mr. Biller is using the tragedy of Ms. Green's accident to further his own claims against Toyota, which we strongly dispute and will continue to fight," the company said in its statement.
Biller's own suit against Toyota, filed in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, is pending and in arbitration. The arbitrator in that case is considering whether thousands of Toyota documents held by Biller are privileged or whether they can be made public based on Biller's charges that they contain evidence of fraud.

Toyota subpoenaed again, this time over faulty steering components
Grand jury seeks documents related to steering relay rods, which are crucial to the handling and control of vehicles, as investigations into sudden acceleration and other safety matters continue.
By Ken Bensinger, Los Angeles Times
July 20, 2010, 8:08 p.m.
A federal grand jury investigating Toyota Motor Corp. is expanding its inquiry into the automaker's handling of safety issues, subpoenaing documents dealing with defects unrelated to sudden acceleration.
The Japanese automaker disclosed Tuesday that a federal grand jury in New York's Southern District had subpoenaed documents related to faulty steering components. That broadens the panel's inquiry beyond problems related to unintended-acceleration issues, which have led Toyota to issue more than 10 million recall notices worldwide since September.
The subpoena, issued June 29, requests documents related to "defective, broken and/or fractured steering relay rods of Toyota vehicles," Toyota said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
"We'll cooperate with the grand jury request," said Mike Michels, a spokesman for Toyota at its Torrance sales headquarters.
The automaker is already under scrutiny by federal safety regulators over its 2005 recall of nearly 1 million pickups and SUVs for steering relay rods that could break without warning.
That investigation, launched by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in May, seeks to determine whether the automaker delayed the recall, a potential violation of federal law.
A spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney's office for the Southern District of New York, which works with the federal grand jury examining Toyota, declined to comment.
In February, the same federal grand jury subpoenaed Toyota for information related to unintended acceleration in its vehicles as well as braking systems in the Prius hybrid. Toyota has also received subpoenas related to sudden acceleration from the SEC and the attorney general of Michigan.
In April, it agreed to pay a record $16.4-million fine for delaying a recall of gas pedals that could stick.
Toyota did not disclose which vehicles or model years were targeted by the latest subpoena. But its handling of steering defects had come under scrutiny from NHTSA.
In September 2005, Toyota recalled three vehicles covering the 1989 to 1998 model years, including the 4Runner, to repair steering relay rods. That recall affected 977,000 vehicles.
NHTSA officials say they are exploring the timing of the recall, which came nearly a year after a similar action in Japan for the same defect.
According to Toyota, the relay rod could suddenly fail, causing partial or total loss of vehicle control. Such a failure occurred in a Toyota Hilux in Japan in 2004, causing injuries to five people and triggering a police probe of the automaker that indicated that it may have known about the defect for well over a decade before taking action, according to court records.
At the time of the Japanese recall, in October 2004, Toyota informed NHTSA that no recall was necessary in the U.S. because there were no reports of problems here.
John Kristensen, an attorney representing the families of two people killed in accidents involving vehicles subject to that recall, requested that NHTSA open its timeliness investigation in the spring.
He said documents showed that Toyota had received scores, if not hundreds, of complaints from consumers about the vehicle as early as 2000. The Times first reported on those earlier complaints in December.
"We've always contended that they knew steering rods were breaking in the U.S. before they announced the recall in Japan," Kristensen said.
Although it is against the law to mislead NHTSA about safety defects in vehicles, prosecutors have rarely if ever charged an automaker with such a violation.
One reason, according to Ellen Podgor, a professor at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Fla., and an expert in white-collar crime, is the enormous complexity of such cases and the eagerness of companies to settle by paying a substantial fine before charges are ever filed.
Increasingly, she said, the Justice Department offers such a deal to companies rather than take them to court. "The collateral damage can be so great to a company if it is indicted," Podgor said. "A company always wants to work something out."

Puluhan ribu karyawannya mau dikasi makan apa, TOLOL???? Dikasi makan besi rongsok mobil eloe yang jeblok, TOYOTAMAN?????? DIKASI MAKAN WEB SAMPAH ELOE????
ENte hanya pengangguran!!!
TOYOTAMAN, ENTE EMANG SAMPAHHHH...!!! SAMPAH MASYARAKAT!!!! SAMA BUSUKNYA DENGAN WEB-WEB SAMPAHH ANDA !!!!
