Isuzu has unveiled its all-new D-Max pickup in Thailand – the full model change version made its debut yesterday, ahead of the similarly-underpinned Chevrolet Colorado, which is expected to be introduced next week.
Not many details about the vehicle abound, but according to the Bangkok Post, the basic shape for the vehicle – which sits on Isuzu’s new i-Grip platform – in its extra and double-cab versions are pretty much the same, and that the new D-Max rolls in with significantly more heft in terms of overall dimensions compared to the outgoing one, even though no figures were available for it at press time.

The company says that the new D-Max’s body is 42% stiffer than the old one, and will help bring about improved handling and ride. In the double-cab, the larger dimensions of the vehicle bring about more legroom space for rear occupants, who also get more comfy seats at the back.
In terms of engines, three turbodiesel options abound – a 177 hp and 380 Nm 3.0 litre heads the list, followed by a 2.5 litre mill in two output tunes, the first being the familiar 116 hp and 280 Nm as seen on the current vehicle, and the other the VGS version offering 136 hp and 320 Nm. As for transmissions, there’s the usual five-speed manual, but the auto tranny is now a five-speed unit, bringing it in line with current expectation.

Among the features to be found on the new ‘un are traction control and a vehicle stability system, and there’s even an eight-speaker audio system, replete with surround sound. Sales of the vehicle, which will be available in 4×2 and 4×4 configurations, are expected to begin in early October in Thailand.

Om FM....

Bakal dimasukin gak y ama Astra Isuzu? Soalnya dari dulu kan si AI sepengamatan saya gak terlalu serius jualan D-Max, yang mana saya sayangkan karena jaringan Isuzu toh udah ada di mana2 dan nama Isuzu terkenal bandel di Indo. Cocok buat kasta mobil pekerja.

AFAIK, yang pake D-Max sebagai fleet operasional di Indo cuman UT, itupun UT masih grup Astra juga CMIIW.... Juga Polisi Kehutanan dan beberapa kesatuan AD hehehehe....

Kalo di Thailand gahar penjualan D-Max....kalo gak salah no.2 setelah Hilux. Makanya nongolnya tuh D-Max baru di Thailand dulu...selain emang bikinan disana :P Masuk gak ya. Panther kan udah ketahuan mau discontinue. Apa iya Isuzu mau jualan mobil niaga doang...who knows - bisa aja dipasangin kap, jadi deh SUV - siap saji :P

Keknya gak deh feeling ane om, berkaca dari cara mereka jualan D-Max selama ini. Tapi iya juga, mo jualan apa lagi Isuzu Indo huahahaha.... Masak iya bener2 terjun total ke niaga thok, Bison ama truk?

Soal dipasangin kap, MU7 gatot y di Indo om? Eh, apa memang gak dipasarin y? Kalo gak salah pernah liat artikel launchingnya di Otomotif beberapa taun lalu.

Kyk nya mmg mau fokus di mbl niaga doang. Entah ini kebijakaan produsen jepang sono ato dr ATPM indo (astr*). MU7 gak masuk indo, cmm pernah diperkenalkan waktu pameran. Kalopun masuk kemungkinan jg gatot, krn gak meneruskan tradisi panther yg tahan banting & kuat solar busuk. Belum lg modelnya kurang menarik dibanding kompetitornya. CMIIW.

Dmax...salah satu dcab yg saya suka, kemampuan on road dan offroadnya juga berimbang, dijalanan licin ekornya gak gampang ngepot2 melintir meski bak kondisi kosong, space kabin masih terasa lapang untuk duduk, tenaga mesinnya juga mantap + shift on fly. Yang sangat2 disayangkan mesinnya ternyata gak tahan sama solar kampung, selain itu konsumsinya rada boros, buat muter2 kawasan proyek aja FC rata2 1:8

krn faktor mesin tsb, untuk kebutuhan fleet di indonesia, bs dibilang dmax makin tersingkir

Mesin ringkih? Padahal D-Max yang beredar di Indo selama ini blom CRD kan om Jalu? Gimana kalo uda CRD, makin cepet rontok aja y....

Brarti Dmax keluar dr pakem mesin Isuzu ya? Biasa mesin diesel isuzu terkenal irit & bandel, tp dmax malah manja & boros. Mestinya Dmax pake mesin bighorn aja. hehehe.

AFAIK, dmax yg gen2 (lampu projector) dng mesin 4JJ comrail..mesin ini yg banyak tewas krn mabuk solar kampung :drinking:

mesinnya tidak ringkih...tapi krn bbm nya yang gak sesuai... :D

di tempat gue berhamburan tuh ford sama triton bolak balik masuk bengkel baikin kaki kaki , udah tahu gitu kenapa gak mendingan beli LC70 pick up yah

Om Solar domisili mana? Oya, kenapa perusahaan gak pada beli LC 70, mahal ommmmmmm, tembus 700 di web Auto2000. Dapet ranger/Triton 2 biji hehehehe.... Hanya sekelas Freeport Caltex aja yang mampu beli. Yang multi nasional lah. Newmont di kampung ane Manado (perusahaan Ostrali penambang emas) juga pake LC 70.

gini om excavator caterpillar harganya nyaris 2x komatsu tapi buktinya bisa laku nah masa LC 70 gak bisa laku kalau memang sosialisasinya bagus dan daya tahannya 2x pick up biasa ............

saya belum pernah ke lokasi freeport....bagi temen2 yg sudah pernah atau mungkin bekerja disana tolong kasi info apakah LC70 yang dipake untuk operasional mereka itu terdaftar di Polri gak ?

saya dah gugel2 foto2 mobil freeport khususnya yg LC70, difoto itu semua gak ada yg pake plat nopol...so..??

kalo memang semua LC70 mereka terdaftar di Polri, berarti freeport bener2 perusahaan yg mapan krn gak peduli spend duit untuk sebuah mbl pikap yang harganya mahal (krn pajak on the road) plus pajak tahunannya

tapi kalo gak terdaftar di Polri (mbl hanya untuk lingkup tertutup sekitar pertambangan saja), lhaa....make sense mereka beli LC70, krn itungannya sama kyk beli alat2 berat...gak ada pajak on the road & pajak tahunan...tinggal beli, pake beberapa tahun sampe rusak, trus dijunk.

IMHO
D-Max CRD kalo mau dipake di Indonesia maka FRP nya mesti diturunin dulu ke level 1400 bar Maximum, krn di Thailand mereka sudah menerapkan FRP 1800 Bar.

Juga penerapan filter solar 2 lapis.

Pengertian jelek di sini bukannya mesinnya jelek, memang solar kita yg kacakadut, sebab dengan FRP yg tinggi sebetulnya pengabutan lebih baik dan pembakaran akan lebih sempurna.

Kalo D-Max mau sukses di Indonesia mrk harus merilis variant dgn mesin 4JB1-T mekanikal non CRD (2800 cc Turbo), khusus buat daerah yang Solarnya busuk2.

AFAIK beberapa pengusaha fleet juga ada yg ragu untuk memilih Dmax krn sistem t-case shift on fly-nya...mereka sebisa mungkin memilih mbl yg t-case nya masih mekanikal, dng alasan kalo rusak perbaikannya lbh mudah dan mekanik2 udah familiar.
