JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Masyarakat yang penasaran dengan Suzuki Ertiga bermesin diesel, informasinya sedikit mulai terungkap. PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) pun memastikan akan menjual varian tersebut untuk konsumen di Indonesia. Model yang disebut diesel hybrid tersebut dihadirkan untuk bisa menjadi alternatif konsumen di segmen low multi purpose vehicle (LMPV), karena selama ini para produsen hanya menawarkan pilihan mesin bensin saja. Menurut 4W Sales Director Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) Makmur, varian tersebut sedang disiapkan, karena dari model yang lama jelas mengalami perbedaan signifikan terutama masalah mesin. "Ertiga terbaru ini mesinnya berbeda, dari 1.4L menjadi 1.5L, jadi sedang kita siapkan dulu," ucap Makmur di kawasan Kemayoran, Jakarta Pusat, belum lama ini.
Belum lagi mengenai aturan Euro IV untuk mesin diesel dari pemerintah, oleh sebab itu sampai sekarang ini statusnya masih dipersiapkan. Suzuki juga kata dia harus mengikuti aturan tersebut, dan paling penting sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan kondisi di Indonesia. "Nantinya tetap manual atau matik lagi tergantung permintaan konsumen. Kami selalu menampung masukan dari beragam pihak seperti konsumen hingga media," ucap Makmur. Ertiga diesel sendiri pertama dijual di Indonesia pada awal 2017, dan model tersebut sudah memakai teknologi Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS).

This marks the company’s full-fledged entry into the market with bigger engines of 1.5-litre capacity.

The new 1.5-litre DDiS 225 Diesel engine delivers a peak torque of 225Nm @ 1500-2500rpm and maximum power of 70kW @ 4000rpm. It comes with a high-efficiency turbocharger which generates higher low-end torque through optimization. The motor is mated to a newly designed 6-speed transmission.
The engine utilizes Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) which along with the optimized compression ratio reduce engine fluctuations and contributes to better NVH performance. Use of light-weight aluminium casted cylinder head and block along with optimized engine calibration contributes to improved fuel efficiency.
With the addition of this new powerful engine, the new Ciaz will now be available with 1.5 litre capacity in both petrol (K15 with Next-Gen Smart Hybrid) and diesel (DDiS 225) powertrain options.
