Mengenang Kejayaan ETERNA WRC !

Pada ajang WRC (World Rally Championship) tahun 1988 sampai 1992, kubu Mitsubishi menggunakan sedan ETERNA dengan mesin 4G63T All Wheel Drive.

Kemudian pada tahun 1993, Mitsubishi mulai menggunakan Lancer Evolution III dengan body yang lebih kecil dan lebih ringan.

Berikut foto-foto dimana saat ETERNA WRC sedang beraksi pada ajang event dunia yaitu WRC 1988-1992.

Masih bro, pd dasarnya masih 4G63T tapi sudah mengalami berbagai penyempurnaan sehingga HP nya jauh lebih besar yg skrng.

Sayang banget kalo mesin legendaris spt 4G63 diberhentikan, soalnya gw denger2 katanya di Evolution X tidak akan menggunakan 4G63T lagi. :?

Cakep2 foto ne. Itu yg kebun2 sawit, di Malay atau Sumatra tuh..? Seingat gw di Sumatra pernah pernah beberapa kali ya sebelum krismon.

Yup, yg ada kebon sawit-nya itu di Indonesia dan ada sebagian yg di Malaysia. Gampang kalo mau tau ciri2nya di Indonesia, liat aja sticker yg nempel di body ETERNA. Kalo ada sticker Garuda Indonesia dan Gudang Garam Surya maka lokasinya di Indonesia.

Pada ajang WRC (World Rally Championship) tahun 1988 sampai 1992, kubu Mitsubishi menggunakan sedan ETERNA dengan mesin 4G63T All Wheel Drive.
Nama Eterna dipakai di Jepang untuk varian Galant versi hatchback5 pintu, dan di Indonesia untuk menggantikan Galant dikarenakan pada generasi sebelumnya yang masih memakai nama Galant dianggap kurang laris. Baru pada 1993 Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian, ATPM Mitsubishi di sini kembali menggunakan nama Galant.

Kembali kepada ajang reli dunia, yang benar pada tahun tersebut, Mitsubishi menggunakan MITSUBISHI GALANT VR-4, tidak ada nama Eterna, apalagi Eterna WRC. Pada era tersebut, tidak ada mobil di ajang reli tsb yg menggunakan spek WRC, melainkan spek Group-A.

Yang dimaksud spek Group-A itu adalah:
Technical regulations mandate that World Rally Cars must be built upon a production car with a minimum of 2500 units, based on a pre-existing Group A model, to which a number of modifications may be added, including but not limited to increasing engine capacity to 2.0 litres, adding a turbocharger, four wheel drive, active differential, sequential gearbox and aerodynamic apendages., mobil yg digunakan pada Group-A, harus berbasis mobil yg diproduksi juga untuk jalan raya, dengan minimal jumlah 2500 unit. mobil tersebut harus dihomologasi FIA agar dapat mengikuti gelaran reli tsb. Kita lihat, Galant VR-4 juga diproduksi massal oleh Mitsubishi, dan spek antara versi produksi dengan versi reli tidak jauh berbeda, seperti mesin dan penggerak yang sudah all wheel drive.

Lalu, yang dimaksud spek WRC adalah:
World Rally Car is a term used to describe the racing automobiles built to the specification set by the FIA and used to compete in the outright class of the World Rally Championship (WRC). However, unlike Group A, manufacturers are no longer required to build "Homologation Specials" in order to meet approval. The base model need not have the characteristics of the WRC, as evidenced from cars such the Peugeot 206 and 307, Citroën Xsara, or the Skoda Fabia, which have no road car with a turbocharged petrol engine or four wheel drive., jadi mobil peserta tidak harus berbasis mobil yg diproduksi massal dengan sekurangnya 2500 unit. Kita bisa lihat, seperti mobil yg telah disebut di atas, ada Toyota Corolla WRC, ga ada kan, Corolla yg all wheel drive dan mesinnya juga 2000cc turbo yg diproduksi massal?

Nah, beberapa mobil WRC antara lain:
# Peugeot 206 WRC (1999-2003)
# Peugeot 307 WRC (2004-)
# Seat Cordoba WRC (1998-2000)
# Skoda Fabia WRC (2003-)
# Skoda Octavia WRC (1999-2003)
# Subaru Impreza WRC (1997-)
# Toyota Corolla WRC (1997-1999)

sementara mobil Group-A:
# Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 (1989-1993)
# Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
# Subaru Impreza 555
# Toyota Celica GT-Four
# Lancia Delta HF Integrale
# Ford Escort Cosworth

Nah, sudah jelas kan perbedaannya? keuntungan dengan spek WRC, pabrikan tidak perlu repot memproduksi versi massal dari mobil yg dilombakan di kejuaran World Rally. Sedangkan kelemahannya, pereli privateer tidak bisa mengembangkan mobil sendiri, seperti dulu jika ada pereli yg mau ikut Group-A, bisa beli mobil massalnya terus dimodifikasi sendiri.
Kemudian pada tahun 1993, Mitsubishi mulai menggunakan Lancer Evolution III dengan body yang lebih kecil dan lebih ringan.
ini juga info yg salah, pada tahun 1993, Mitsubishi Ralliart Europe (tim Mitsubishi peserta tetap reli dunia) mengganti Galant VR-4 dengan LANCER EVOLUTION RS

Lancer Evolution RS adalah generasi pertama Lancer Evolution, mesinnya tetap sama dengan Galant VR-4.

Nah, begitulah koreksi saya, sekaligus penjelasan tentang ajang World Rally

Seri Reli dunia HANYA dua kali pernah diselenggarakan di Indo sampai sejauh ini, yaitu pada 1996 dan 1997. Kedua event diselenggarakan di sekitar Medan, Sumatera Utara. di luar itu, seri di Indo cuma sampai taraf Asia Pacific rally Championship (APRC).

Event tahun 1996 bernama Bank Utama Rally of Indonesia, sedangkan pada 1997 namanya Rally of Indonesia
